I've been scrapboooking and paper crafting for more than 20 years. There used to be a lot of brick and morter choices for browsing, inspiration and shopping. Sadly, most of them have not survived the internet. The ones I've found are often disappointing with sparsely stocked shelves or dated products. I was visiting from out of town and made a point of stopping at The Crafty Scrapper, not expecting much. I was super excited to find this beautiful shop is reminiscent of experiences now long gone. The shop is centered in the historical center of Waxahachie, a wonderful place to roam and enjoy if you love small towns. This shop is huge and filled with inspiration everywhere you look. I found things I've only seen in online shops or on YouTube channel tutorials. Tons of paper and cardstock, well layed out in theme categories. Embellishments galore, gorgeous ribbons you can have cut by the yard. Rubber stamps, inks, embossing powders, stickers, ephemera, project kits, tools, paints, markers and the list goes on. Read moreHands down the best scrapbook store in TX! Carolyn and her staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and always willing to help. They carry great products (not just what you’d find at the chain craft stores), have lots of great projects for inspiration in the store, a great selection of classes and kits available in store or online, and several subscription boxes. They even have a garage sale every year where you can sell craft supplies you’re no longer want and buy more stuff! This is my happy place store. Support small businesses and shop here - you...
Read moreIf I could go negative on stars I’d go negative 5, overpriced product and classes. Also preferred treatment of owners friends when it comes to sign ups for events, if there is 25 spots guarantee 10 are filled before it opens up by people who don’t even have to pay up front! Very rude staff and stuck up atmosphere. Lots of gossip about other customers and stores while you’re in there shopping too! Current quilt class is a rip off, kits retail $199 online and she’s charging $300 plus $25 a class times 6 THEN you’ll pay someone $300 or more...
