Returned again and the seafood was scrumptious. Dined inside and the service was excellent. Why such a low star for this favored local restaurant? It breaks my heart but here it goes. We waited 35 minutes after our take out order was due for pick-up. The lady apologized repeatedly as she forgot to enter our called-in order. The place was very busy and the kitchen was running behind. We understand the forgeting and busy kitchen. We were glad for the apology. But only a verbally statement and no tangible resolution to such an incident is not enough. An offer of a free dessert would have been appropriate. But nothing, nada, nilo. The manager saw my wife waiting the entire time and did not step in. We were patient and not explosive. Simply waited to see what their remedy might be. No discount, extra hush puppies, desert, gift card; only a verbal apology. Sadly customer service was seriously lacking in this incident. We still love the food and wish them well.
Been looking for a neighborly seafood place and we found it today. Tried this place out of the blue with no reccomentations. The food was well prepared and utterly delicious. Have not had oysters this good since we lived on the east coast. Fries were also quite good. Tartar sauce and the cocktail sauce were some of the best I have ever tasted. Simple environment with a lot of locals. Many customers were known by name. Service was attentive. I even left an oversized tip I was so impressed. I believe that they are moving to a larger location. Hush puppies were very much appreciated by this southern boy. They also sell fresh fish and have daily specials. Our oyster basket meal was fresh. Give this place a try! Key lime...
Ā Ā Ā Read moredecided to stop in for dinner and give the place a try, main dining area full so we were sent to the patio, wx was ok so we agreed, as soon as we got to patio are noticed how dirty the concrete was it looked as if it had not been cleaned/pressure washed in a long time especially under the tables, there were food scraps everywhere along with dead roaches! waitress came and took orders, drinks/cold oysters came out and when she put them on table I had to do a dbl look cause it appeared as if the shells were empty, the oysters were so small u could have put 4 into one shell and still had room, NOT good!! took all of 2 min to finish and main course came out, I ordered the snapper w/rice special, again when she put it on the table I almost had to ask where the fish was at, the "filet" was under the rice/sauce and was very very small for being a fresh cut filet(a kids happy meal patty is bigger)? the rice tasted like it came frozen out of a bag and it was barely warm, no clue what the sauce was comprised of?... at this point I am thinking to myself the folks leaving reviews either got very lucky or they were enjoying the bar well before eating?? for $30 oysters the size of my thumb nail and a "filet" the size/thickness of a piece of cardboard, to me this place is just not worth it... the only positive is that the staff is very friendly and our waitress was mostly attentive, outside noise is loud due to the constant street traffic but seems the inside is just as loud with everyone trying to talk over each other??? if you are local and want a basic (some fresh/some trucked) meal give it a try, but for "real" seafood selection this ain't it...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAtkinās Seafood and Market. What a pleasant surprise going here for dinner. I got dressed up and though it was going to be a fast food type of joint but turned out to be very nice. I had fish tacos. It was a white fish that had been seared with a blacken spice rub it was a light touch because it didnāt overwhelm the delicateness of the fish. The corn tortilla was filled with a creamy tartar sauce and fresh slaw. I could have sprinkled a little salt over it but the taste was damn near perfect. Before the tacos we ordered a half dozen oysters. The choice was gulf or north east coast. Blue Point and one other oyster were the NE choice. It was pretty loud being 6pm on Friday evening. Glad we came early because their was a wait out the door. There is a back patio and it was low 70ās so it was full as well. I made the right choice with the Gulf selection because they were plump and delicious. They came with lemon wedges chilled on shaved ice with creamy tartar and red cocktail sauce in large squeeze bottles. Vinegar would of been nice but I didnāt think to ask. I was impressed that is was a full service restaurant. The waiters were very attentive and bustling to keep up on top of taking care of the guests. There is a lot of bar seating and it was a full bar serving draft beers and cocktails. I did try the hush puppies and I wasnāt sure if it was savory or cake it was a little bit of...
