If I could give zero stars I would . I hate to post a negative review, i am a small business owner and local to this farm but my past experience was so bad , i nor my family or business , will ever support them again . I have purchased pumpkins here for my inner city school for the last 4 years . I have come to the stand , loaded the pumpkins myself and paid the price- even understanding prices go up . This year I called and confirmed that I could come and the pricing . It was Saturday . I was told when i went to ring up my 100 pumpkins , they would not honor the price they told me on phone because it was a weekend . I asked to speak to the owner who I had to find . I met Todd who was rude and spoke to me like I was bothering him . Todd yelled to me he can’t honor the price bc it was too hard to get help and get the fork lift like he always does to load my car . I kindly corrected him and said, I’m here with my daughter and we already have them on a cart and would not need any assistance and have NEVER had help in the past . He said well you ruined my display ( which was a large box of piled pumpkin not a display ) in a weekend by taking all those pumpkins . I said Todd, I am causing you a problem by coming back every year to purchase 100 pumpkins ? He raised his voice and was embarrassing himself making ridiculous comments on how he can’t honor anything in Saturday and I probably used to come on weekdays . I said I did call and ask and no one said come during the week and I happen to have help today and an event the next day. I said I’m simply asking you to honor the price I was told . He was of no help and continues to say untrue things bout how much work it would take to honor his word at the register . I have no respect for a person who is not of their word and was trying to yell at me . Horrible business practice and I hated to buy from this farm but I promised 100 familes in the city a pumpkin patch and offer these pumpkins free to them . Todd is not a person I would ever give business too again .He is a terrible example of a fair man . I’ll be happy to find another local farm . Sometimes how you do business is more important then...
Read moreThe staff was friendly when we entered and they said to us that we may be disappointed for not being able to find strowberries since they were all picked up. I and my sister in law, mother and mother in law entered and we looked through to find as much as we can but there were very few good ones. We picked the good ones and my mom and I said we should get the bad ones to make jams and ask the staff if we can pay a separate price for those. We picked some bad ones and also collected the ones on the ground if they were about half good, so we can cut the bad parts but still have some parts left for the jam. And when I cane and ask if I can pay a different price for the bad ones , the boy started staying “ you have to pay what you picked”, as if I was asking to get them for free. I asked if I can speak to the manager, two of them came but they all said I need to pay the same price for all and when I asked again “ to pay a different price for the half rotten ones” otherwise I am going to toss the rotten back on the farm. The male manager “looking “ guy took both boxes ( the good ones and bad ones) said to leave them there “ no strawberries without payment “ I explained again “ I am just asking if I can pay a different price , I am not asking if I can get anything for free” and Then they give me the box with good straw berries , back ... I thought it would be an earning for the owner and a use for the good parts of those half rotten strawberries.... but everyone has a different way of understanding I guess!!!
I don’t think I will come again, I will visit the farms where I live, Massachusetts , and in New Hemisphere...
but another good thing about the place is that we were able to find good cow manure for a good price...
Read moreI'm really mind-boggled today, seeing reviews for how many comments were made about how not nice this place is- sort of nasty, all depending on the matter I gather AND mostly it is about some people working and more so, that IS the owners working there being this way to customers (and kids). It's to me pretty unbelievable to see the pattern here, in reviews, SO MANY are the same undertones but they are NOT reviews by/of the same people or seem posted intentionally, as I am years now a contributor of Google reviews much myself -- but being that I live locally and I go there enough over years myself, I've def. observed the cranky types working there, some do show a slight air of arrogance and even more so, an intolerance, to their operation and to their dispositions but odd way too be for and in any customer oriented biz, that IS sad to say or deal with ( it is much the same stuff so many reviewers here say of it and them) but since I am fair, know it is NOT how it is from everybody who works there, sans a few nice cashiers, some are just younger people for summer help hired there or are the younger family members/kids of the owners of the farm family.
I do get customers are at issue sometimes too but really? Your "across the board" general attitudes over there, yes, def. in the air, those ways are not welcome by me so let us hope we'll never have...
