Updated (as of 10/24/20) 5 weeks later, I am updating my review to reflect that Diamond Jimâs reached out to apologize and they were able to rectify this situation with a great sense of professionalism. Although it was a frustrating process, we were able to find a solution that worked well for me as a paying customer. My rating will go from 2 stars to 3 stars. Thankful to know that they do indeed care about customer satisfaction. â- Proceed with extreme caution. Buyers beware. -Wasnât sure about doing this, but this review may be helpful for both new customers and the business owners at Diamond Jimâs. Iâve had some financial issues in the past, so Iâve really been trying to do things that are in the best interest of my financial situation. After going to different places, something brought me to Diamond Jimâs. There were a number of cars on the lot, but the car I really liked was a Volkswagen. I did a test drive, went through the application process and they said they would call me back the next day. It took until about 4:00pm the next day to get everything approved and ready to sign. We test drove it again, got the car and left. -It was the Friday before Labor Day weekend, but I was able to get the car to a mechanic on the following Wednesday. I took it to an ASE certified shop and NAPA auto care center. After an inspection, they told me the car had an oil leak from the turbo connection to the engine. I donât know about cars, but since there was oil everywhere, he recommended that I take it back to the dealership to have it looked at. I asked him to write it in a note, and he did. -I took the car back to Diamond Jimâs that same day, showed them the note, and the technician there took about 20-30 minutes, only to tell me that the car engine was bone dry and proceeded to show me pictures that he took. Why it took nearly 30 minutes to tell me there was no problem, I have no idea. The mechanic at Diamond Jimâs was belligerent and accused the other mechanic of trying to make him look bad and also accused the other mechanic of trying to upsell me. The mechanic I took it to NEVER offered to fix the car and didnât even give me a quote. In fact, he said because I already paid over the value of the car that it wouldnât be worth it to put the extra FEW GRAND into the car that it would take to fix it. -The technician at Diamond Jimâs said I was played by the other mechanic and told me to come back Friday (which is today). -I went to another mechanic, THE SAME DAY (so this is the 3rd mechanic seeing the same car in one day). Guess what he found? AN OIL LEAK! He said that he could tell that the engine and turbo connections had just been cleaned up, but there was definitely a leak, in not one, but TWO areas of the car. One leak was from an aftermarket part that was on the car and the other from the turbo. -@I spent a chunk of my savings for the down payment and this has been a headache. They said that a $5000 used engine was put in the car recently, but according to the other mechanics, if the turbo connections werenât replaced as well, that could be the cause of the leak. -That was all on Wednesday. The following day, Thursday, I got a call from the first mechanic I took it to and I was disgusted to hear that the folks at Diamond Jimâs called him and berated him. They used the note I brought to find his contact information. They left a series of nasty reviews on the mechanicâs Google reviews (which have since been deleted) and accused him of scamming me when THAT DIDNâT HAPPEN. I was terrified by their unprofessionalism. The other shop had no interest in trying to get over on me or give Diamond Jimâs a bad name. -I am giving 2 stars because I would give 4 to the sales folks for the initial experience, but 1 to the mechanics and the overall unprofessionalism of calling the first mechanic and harassing him. -Again, proceed with extreme caution....
Read moreSo after almost a week, I was finally satisfied with taking my vehicle home. First thing he mentioned to me was a scratch on the back bumper, he said that they planned on touching it up but didn't have a chance, but said it was something they would do for me. So when I took a test drive I let the salesman know that I heard a rattling noise when going over pumps. He agreed with me, so once we got back to the office he told the mechanic about it. I will say applying for a loan was a breeze and were able to get me a great rate. They weren't able to fix it the next day. So i said I would come the following day to pick it up. After trying to contact the salesman multiple times the next day to see if the problem was fixed, he finally called back and said the problem was more than he thought and wouldn't be ready until the next day, I was ok with that as long as it was going to be fixed. So the next day comes and I go to pick it up, i drive it off the lot and the problem was fixed still rattling and now the check engine light was on. So I turned around and let the salesman know, he pretended to act surprised. It was nice of them to give me a car to borrow until my vehicle was fixed, I will give them that. Monday come around and I get a call that the car is fixed, I drive back to the dealership to pick it up. Going back to the scratch, it still wasn't touched up, he said the paint was coming Detroit and it didn't arrive yet. I was told I could come pick it up once it was delivered, or they would be willing to ship it out to me, I was OK with this. I leave the dealership, rattling noise is fixed and so is the check engine light. So after all of this I was willing to give a 3 or 4 rating, until I contacted the salesman a few days later about the paint. He told me it was delivered, I said great and I would stop by the next day to pick it up, to save them the hassle of shipping it. So I drive out there after work to pick it up, to find a note on the door saying everyone was gone to lunch for 3 hours! Annoyed that I made the 20 min drive for some touch up paint, I contacted the salesman and asked to please mail me the paint. Well after that day, they don't respond to my voicemail or texts. Assuming they don't care because they already got my business.
Update:. After leaving negative feedback they finally contacted me and overnighted the paint to me, so that was nice. Just wish they just would have done...
Read moreBe careful at this place be sure to take code scanners and thoroughly inspect vehicle before purchase. I went to look at a car about two weeks ago. I was greeted very politely and was shown the vehicle i wanted. I sat in car and did my usual inspection and it checked out as i sat there for 15 to 20,minutes with car running. I then went to test drive the vehicle. Now this is where it gets bad. I drove the vehicle for only two blocks and noticed the brakes and rotors were about a 3 out of ten with semi loud noises which was a red flag since i thought the cars they were showing were ready to go. Now after about two more blocks i turned on a/c and the smell was alarming since i know that a certain smell can be from thermostat Issues the and things of that nature. But when i finally made it half a mile i knew it was some overheating issues and immediately returned the vehicle. This was not even after five minutes of driving.By the time i got in the office to return keys the vehicle was literally smoking. Now i say be careful because after they saw that they told me they would look at it and let me know once they fixed it. But no. A week later i am still car hunting and this car is still on the market as is. I even called back to try again and they are still advertising that car without service. They even told me they never had a issue when i called from a different number and asked about the vehicle. Wow be very careful going to this place or maybe Not go at all if your not experienced. guess my experience saved this time...
