Las Fajitas — Restaurant in West Allis

A quiet little Mexican restaurant located in a high traffic area. The parking lot always seems packed so I've avoided going there for a long time. Turns out many of the vehicles there are overflow from the car lot next door, so it's worthwhile to take a chance and see for yourself how crowded it is. With all the new fusion Mex restaurants popping up all over town, Las Fajitas is a refreshing experience. Simple, authentically prepared dishes seem to be the house specialty. The steak burrito with rice and beans was exactly what I've been searching for. Tender chopped steak, seasoned expertly, was mouth watering. Next time I go I'm planning to order the carne asada, hoping it's marinated the same way. The servings are huge, well worth the moderate price. My friend ordered the burrito de mariscos and felt his was equally satisfying. Las Fajitas has a fully stocked bar and a decent selection of top shelf tequilas... Was a nice atmosphere and our waiter was super nice and friendly. He got us refills without asking, checked on us regularly. The food was just okay sadly. Food looked delicious as heck when it was brought to our table. I had high hopes with this place but the food wasn't very flavorful. Most mexican food has spices and seasonings that I love. Here not so much. Chicken chimichangas were just meat and cheese that were bland. Rice had no flavor but mixing it with my beans made it good. I ate all of that. I only ate one of the three chimichangas. Gaucamole wasn't that great either. If you love cilantro this would be for you. I give this place a 3 for the great service and ambiance...

As a Californian, I find it hard to find decent Mexican food here that is not bland and flavorless (tex-mex). This place did a great job! Breakfast was delicious and at a fair price. I had a Chile relleno and the chorizo eggs breakfast and coffee. I am usually not a fan of cinnamon coffe, but they did a great job balancing the cinnamon so it was barely noticeable and quite pleasant, giving it a little something extra.
