Years ago, this gallery reached out to me to send in some pieces for an upcoming exhibition. I sent my items and followed the protocol. I even sent a gift for the organizer. Since I was one of the out of state artists, we were suppose to get photos and other info when it opened. I didn’t receive anything and reached out to ask about it. I got the runaround got a while, but they eventually sent photos and some rude words. When the exhibition was over they sent back pieces and also sent back the gift with a note saying “Thanks, but no thanks.”
It was a crushing blow, as I was a very young artist just starting out. It stopped me from ever wanting to do anything involving a gallery ever again. It still haunts me 10 years later on how they treated artists that they reached out to. When I voiced my concerns to the man in charge of it all, he responded with absolutely no compassion and even ended his email with “ no more communication...
