The J - Detroit — Attraction in West Bloomfield Township

I was disappointed to find out that the 6am MWF Bootcamp with Jimi had been canceled (this class was the only reason I had a JCC membership). The JCC did not even give even a week's notice that it would be canceled. Furthermore, the management lied to its membership stating that Jimi was no longer doing the Bootcamps because of "scheduling conflicts". The only scheduling conflict was that he wanted to be there, and they didn't want them there.

When I canceled my membership, I requested to not have to pay for next month's dues because of the circumstances listed above. I was charged today for another 30 days, yet I will never be stepping foot back inside of that Fitness Center.

The JCC Fitness Center is old, boring, and extremely expensive. For a basic membership (no frills locker room, no sauna, no jacuzzi), it's $65 a month. For the Executive Locker Room access, which includes a nicer locker room, sauna, and jacuzzi, the price is $110 per month. It's a rip off.

The management at this establishment is in need of replacing. There is nepotism abound and most, if not all, of the equipment is donated. The gym is advertised as "State if the Art"...really?!?

Honestly this is one of the only places around to play roller hockey. The only problem is, is they let higher division players and teams play anywhere. When you’re a lower level team you should be going against lower level players. I understand some teams may have a few good players. But not the WHOLE TEAM. It’s a shame that they let teams mercy others in the 1s & 2nd periods and continue to play in that division. I pay good money to play all 3 periods. There’s gotta be a way...

When I save some money I would love to sign up for full membership for my family. I really like the staff, they are friendly and professional. I had heard that they displayed discrimination but I have not experienced that at all! It is always important to get your own experience. This is a great place. They could use some updating in the locker rooms. I also love the swim apparel dryer that thing will dry your swim suit so...
