My mother was admitted via ER on 3/21/23. She was rushed in after a routines doctors appointment with Henry Ford Pain clinic. Her blood pressure was extremely high, stroke level. Where she was offered PT for her chronic pain. The ER doctors and nurses were good. Here blood pressure returned to normal on its on without any medication. We were placed an a comfortable room while we awaited information from a physician. After being in ER for four hours, we we never informed what the prognosis was. I happened to call a nurse and was informed that they were admitting my mother. No doctor EVER came by to offer any explanation. They transport team simple transformed my mother to the Stroke floor. Keep in mind there has NOT been an explanation of a stroke. The first nurse and attending doctor, Dr. Jay were attentive and kind. However there was an extreme lack of communication and attentiveness regarding my mother's stay. My mother has Parkinson's Disease. She was given a MRA at 4 AM. The doctor informed me that it wasn't the "best" image. What would you expect from performing a test at which a person must stay still and they have been diagnosed with a movement disorder? My mother was discharged without the doctor calling to inform me of the outcome. The social worker on her case informed me that she would be discharged via ambulance to a rehab facility at 4:35 on 3/27/2023. She was also given a EKG 30 minutes BEFORE discharge and according to her MYCHART, she was asleep! How can you get an accurate reading. She was in the hospital for six days related to a "stroke" why is she just having an EKG when she is to be discharged? There was no opportunity to prepare or to even know my mother's discharge instructions. The social worker had the doctor call me regarding discharge. He then in turn passed me off to the nurse on the floor. I am STILL not sure as to what steps my mother must follow or even what caused her episode. I am extremely displeased with the lack of communication and laissez faire treatment my mother received at Henry Ford Hospital West Bloomfield. I often brag about how kind the Valet and the neurology office staff are, but her stay was less...
Ā Ā Ā Read morePLEASE NEVER GO HERE. Went to Henry ford (Sept 5th) because I have a blood clot in the brain that's affecting motor skills and seizures. My stepdad and I went to ER around 4pm, had vitals at 8pm. Unfortunately I had a seizure while they were taking my vitals, triage nurse was really rude asking me to stop moving and one point asked my stepdad to "slap me out of it and pin me down". My stepdad ofc was upset and told her I was having a seizure. Luckily I came out of it, and waited another 4hrs just to get in a room. It was 3am when a Dr even saw me. Had multiple seizures, one was on the CT table (thank God for the kind hearted tech who yelled at the nurse for slapping me trying to wake me up!!). It was at 8am I was supposedly discharged, never saw a am dr, hardly any nurses, had to scream to be able to use the bathroom. The nurse who discharged me was super rude, she didn't lock the wheelchair, I asked her if the dr was going to see me and she laughed in my face, she almost left my stuff in the room. I specifically asked to be left either in the waiting room or off to the side by triage since I have seizures, she told me "no only patients who are actually sick stay in here." She left me unattended outsie and unfortunately i had seizure n fell hard on the cement, almost getting run over by incoming cars. The hit of my head and the seizure made me not able to for TWO WEEKS. My brother had to call multiple times to get them to help me and get me inside, when my stepdad came i had a cut on my head bleeding and no one cared to even give me a bandaid or a tissue. It has been over a month since this happened and I still cannot talk, I'm definitely seeking legal action due to the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy got lost and ended up at HFH West Bloomfield. He asked the front staff for instead of them helping they called the HFH security and Police on him. They told him to leave the hospital before they arrest for loitering and trespassing. I know that they targeted him because he is African American. We filed a complaint with what they call the Care experience department. This department is joke they are there to prevent a consumer from contacting the CEO or anyone higher up in the hospital. The pretend to investigate but only investigate their employees and disregard the other parties involved in the complaint. We asked for a meeting an employee told me that we wouldn't be getting a meeting. However I received a letter that was fabricated and nothing was addressed and it was signed by the director of care experience. She and I had a brief discussion prior to me receiving the letter, and she pretended that my complaint resonated with her and she was so concerned. This lady was phony as a $3 dollar bill. All I is we still have alot of work to do because racism still exist and if my son had been Caucasian this interaction would have been better. He would have been offered a bottle of water or even a snack. Let me make a suggestion please change your complaint departments name from Care Experience to Disregard Experience because that's exactly what you all did in this complaint. I feel the HFH West Bloomfield staff is very bias, rude and incompetent. They needs to be more trainings to teach customer service and sensitivity. You all are lacking these skills and I will make that State and Federal regulators are aware of...
