Finally got to visit this park with my grandson. Loved the children's play ground, or at least the equipment. However, the designer must not have kids. The large stones in the kid area, especially around the sprinklers, are NOT a good idea. I saw a few kids trip on them as they chased each other. Big accident waiting to happen. A kid can seriously bust their head open on one of those huge stone rocks!!!! Not safe at all.... One more thing, the sprinklers come on one at a time in different sections....my two year old didn't have a chance getting wet because the kids (older) would take over that ONE sprinkler that came on... They all should be on at the same time to avoid the pushing!!! Someone please...
Read moreThis is a wonderful park. It's clean and generally well maintained. The playground near the north entrance does have some broken climbing toys. The water features installed on the playground are enthusiastically used by many of the children. The football fields and the skate park are always busy during the summer. Nearby is a community garden that's unaffiliated with the park district but I'd still count it in the win column. The park is close to the Kedzie and the Blue Island bus lines.
