Shield Street Plaza Shopping Center — Attraction in West Hartford

I go to the plaza only to visit the A Dong Asian Market. I love their selection of unique food choices. When I first began visiting well over a decade ago it was fairly uncrowded I never saw more than a handful of people in the store regardless of what time I went and their prices were really great even on Meats, however, over the last few years it has gained in popularity and now it seems it is crowded regardless of what time you go which has really driven prices up significantly. The things I buy their regularly cost more than twice what they did 10 years ago , perhaps more . The plaza itself is not in great shape the parking lot is really torn up and there's usually carts all over the place blocking spaces to park. This is NOT Shield St shopping plaza. This is Pho' Boston restaurant, which is inside that plaza. This Vietnamese fare is a standby for the best of this flavor of food. It's always busy and always has great service. The dining room is very spacious and suggests a fine dining experience. As for the food, it is always authentic and it is served the right way. I often get the beef Pho' which I did this time and it was just as good as it always is. With a crispy spring roll on the side it's a full meal for anyone. A Dong is the only reason I go here. A Dong is an oriental grocery and the only one I know in the greater Hartford area that carries all Chinese/Vietnamese/Thai/Japanese items. They are very busy as most of West Hartford and surrounding town people who Cook and know ethnic food has to stop by here often. They carry unique fresh oriental produce, frozen original foods that are pre-cooked and just requires the finishing. There's no substitute for A Dong Supermarket.
