Essex County South Mountain Recreation Complex — Attraction in West Orange

Just had a very pleasant walk around the waterfront. I did notice that the pond needs cleaning. There were a lot of trash floating on the water and frankly felt terrible because it is such a nice park and we saw a lot of wildlife in the water - bullfrogs, turtles, duck families, fish - but the trash is detrimental to these animals health and very unsightly! Great place and fun for the whole family! The parking is convenient as the arena is a part of the South Mountain complex, which includes Turtle Back Zoo. There is so much to do from the rink, to the zoo and of course, the mountain. Just be careful of when have occur, because then the rinks are not open to everyone. The phone system and website are also not well organized for finding hours. However, this is not much of a problem since there is so much to do in the area.
