Upgrading your cpu can be fun yet extremely stressful, I’m consistently installing and upgrading my own pc’s parts, for the longest time I’ve been doing the labor myself and buying the parts online because I don’t have much money and try to budget. The place that built my pc tried charging me over 700 for the processor without labor (labor over 150), a1000 charged me around 300, they are the only computer parts and repair shop that charges the regular price rather than marking up product 200 bucks to make a profit, also definitely the only reasonably priced labor for computers around. Having your computer go down Is a pretty horrific experience to happen to anybody, but as a commercial photographer it was devastating! You are basically out of business, I felt like I was going to be sick. I bought a new computer less than three months ago in late July 2021 and it crashed badly. I called the manufacturer who couldn’t help from their end but gave me a few warranty centers to contact. After speaking with the recommended places it was quite apparent they would not be able to help me. I had been to A1000 in July 2021 after I bought my new computer giving them my old one. I really had no choice but to just walk in there hoping they would be able to help me. Not only did they say they would fix this for me, they would give me credit for my old one and have it back to me the same day. I literally broke down in tears because the gentleman “Joe” was such a sweet man and he actually gave me a hug, explaining he knew what I was going through. Brought my computer here for wifi connection issues and they found my os to be corrupted and wiped my entire drive without asking if i wanted a backup. I had been able to access flashdrives even with the wifi issues so i believe the files could have been saved. But no, all my files. Gone. Culminations of many hundreds of hours of work as a digital artist gone. I wish I would have had a warning so i could have backed up the files myself. My computer is now essentially brand new but the entire reason i wanted to get it fixed was to have access to my files and access to the internet to post them.
