Decker Lake is a pleasant and less well-known escape in the middle of west valley city. It used to be much larger and was often sailed on but has since been downsized. The south side of the lake has ample parking and a grass lawn that stretches from the road to the lake. There is a packed gravel walking path along the perimeter of the lake and an even smaller path closer to the shore. There are fish in the lake and fishing is permitted. Wildlife can be seen in abundance and this is a great spot to feed ducks or geese. I wouldn’t recommend swimming in the water as it seems a little stagnant and has a smell during the hot summer days. Things like obvious trash, all the way to children's bikes and shopping carts. There are plenty of birds and fish which made wildlife viewing pleasant. Little bit disappointing if looking for a huge amount of ducks.Park is next to a couple of schools, new apartments and businesses. Not bad for a small neighborhood lake. But it's not Daybreak Oquirr Lake either. No bathroom. Saw one portable potty. Several people are out walking, running or fishing....
