Phở 99 — Restaurant in West Valley City

I feel really bad for leaving this review and I’m also not one to leave a review but this was the worse experience ever. This was one of the many places open for last minute pho so we went. It was sketchy as soon as we walked in, but we decided to eat anyways because of course some places that look like this are good! Not in this case. Pho was very bland. No flavor. Like water we went late so maybe we just got left overs? Anyways, we ate anyways and the icing on the cake was the COCKROACH CRAWLING SLOWLY BY MY SHOULDER ON THE WALL. We got up paid and left, the owner was nice which makes this all the hard to leave a review but if your still open with cockroaches who knows what goes on behind the kitchen....

I really, really love this place! Their Pho is amazing! Their service is spectacular! The atmosphere is actually, in my opinion, great! I don't think it's a lot of people's tastes but it reminds me of home. It has a very homey feel to it. It feels like a restaurant right out from Vietnam or another Southeastern Asian country (I'm half Cambodian). The atmosphere is very homely! They greet you immediately and are just extremely nice! I'm actually very confused to how this restaurant has 4.3 stars. Maybe it's because I came here at opening when no one was here yet but their Pho broth was very watery. I had to put a lot of hoison sauce and Sriracha just to taste anything! The service was mediocre, we weren't greeted when we arrived and when I went to pay I assume it was their daughter- was screaming for the mom to help me check out while she was also speaking to someone on the phone about their cable not working.
