The hike to the brink of lower falls was about 1.5 miles and it was really easy to go down but the issue was while coming up it can get strenuous. The elevation gain is about 650ft. The view is stunning. Lower falls in Yellowstone National Park is located on the Grand loop road close to Hayden Valley and Canyon Village depending from where you are coming. The parking lot size is pretty decent with restrooms. This is the Yellowstone river which drops to the upper falls and then drops again to lower falls and finally flowing through the canyon. The view of the gushing water is a great spectacle. You can also feel the mist...

My second favorite waterfall in the park! Just sheer power, majestic beauty and breathtaking energy! I've been here dozens of times and have seen them from various locations, angles and distances, and the experiences were amazing from everywhere (least being artist point). You can pull up at lots and just walk to a viewpoint or do hikes and get really close and feel the mist! Early morning is the best if you want peace and quiet! Highly recommend sunrise as seeing the canyon light up while experiencing the falls is amazing! Love...

This waterfall is insane!!! We hiked the South Rim Trail from the Wapiti Lake parking lot to Upper Falls over to Lower Falls to Artist Point and then Point Sublime. It took about 4 hours total and was beautiful the whole way! You get to see both of the waterfalls and the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone. Don’t forget to bring a good amount of water and some trekking poles if you have them. It didn’t get busy until we got to Artist Point. I recommend going in the morning because it’s nice and cool outside and you’ll be...
