Seismograph Pool. After visiting Abyss Pool and Black pool in Yellow Stone if you walk to the Southway following the West Thumb Geyser Basin Trail you can find the Seismograph and Bluebell pools used to be known as the "Blue Pools."
Actually there's no relation between the pool and the word Seismograph or seismometer, which is an instrument used to detect and record earthquakes. But in 1959 after the Hebgen Lake earthquake, which measured 7.5 on the Richter scale people trying to connect the name of the pools with that instrument and finally the pool was renamed.
