I had planned to purchase a bath tub. This doesn't seem so unreasonable. I went to the "showroom" to see a tub because a plumber said to go to Ferguson for a good tub; he preferred that I not get a cheap one at Home Depot or Lowes. I go in and despite the fact that there are several employees milling about, nobody says anything to me. Seems like odd behavior at a fancy showroom. I have a look at some of the tubs, figured maybe they were busy (they weren't). One employee gave me an obligatory greeting, then went back to hanging around the front desk.
I'm not sure what the point of a showroom is if you ignore any potential customers, maybe I'm missing something. I went to a used office furniture store in the rough part of town and they were far nicer.
I later found out that you're supposed to set an appointment. What? An appointment to buy a bath tub? Do you have to set an appointment to buy a toilet here too? I'm not going to do that, this isn't the 1970s. I understand they have more of a "consultative" sales model so I suppose you do not pick the wrong toilet, you have a toilet salesperson to guide you through the harrowing process of buying a toilet, a sink or tub. Maybe they lay out your toilet choices on three brochures showing good, better best. I wonder if they push for the close on a nice new 2021 toilet. "What do I have to do to get you to buy this toilet and ride it home today?" I wonder if they would take my old toilet on trade in.
Come on everyone, nobody wants to shop like this. I am going to buy a toilet (and the tub) from the manufacturer's website directly. I guess that toilet salesperson isn't going to get their cut of this...
Read moreWhat can I say? I have done construction projects both residential and commercial for over 30 years. I also serve as a professor teaching residential construction at a local community college. Any business can be an "order taker." A mark of a true professional is someone who knows what works, what doesn't work, stands behind their product and offers variety as well as depth in their product line. Fergusons has been there with me for little and big jobs, and most recently I had the great opportunity to work with Kaitlyn Pearce on a residential new build.
I probably buried the lead in this review, as I should have started out with her name. Kaitlyn's patience, product knowledge and making it easy for us has no price tag. You are busy, the job is driving the cost and the time... you need and want someone who meets deadlines, helps you select, fixes problems and does it all with a smile. Kaitlyn is that person.
You can buy on Amazon if you view these products as a commodity. I prefer to build relationships that make my life easy, and that I can make a phone call, get a real person - get a real answer - and go back to doing what I was doing.
Thank you Kaitlyn and Fergusonsons - P. S. My third bath purchase from you will be done soon.. come on over for a dip with me and Roxie!

Read moreWe ordered appliances from here 9 months before the completion of our kitchen. We were told all of our appliances would be on time, but we waited about 3 months for our cooktop and the date for our refrigerator kept getting pushed back going into over a year of waiting. We paid full price for the appliances that were not ready and not offered a discount on the appliances. There was terrible communication. They did not let us know about the dates our appliances would be in, it was only when we called to complain that we got any information. We think it is very possible they sold our appliances to someone else at the end of our kitchen remodel. Fortunately, we were able to get a floor model subzero fridge from Jack's in Hilliard almost immediately. We were not offered any alternatives for the refrigerator or a floor model from Ferguson. We were told we would get a hood faster if we switched models, which we did, and then that was delayed too. I would not shop here for appliances. If you are designing a new kitchen, I would recommend choosing appliances that will most definitely be available when the kitchen is done, ideally in storage with your contractor before the kitchen is done (the sooner...
