First experience - definitely will need second visit to evaluate - first visit did not impress. Kitchen is absolutely clueless about what a Philly Cheesesteak sandwich is, their version is a portion of sliced beef with some vegetables on top, covered with a large slab of barely softened cheese. That is NOT a Philly, not close even to a French dip. Suggest changing menu description for that sandwich! Our server was as friendly as a wolverine, annoyed when we asked her to repeat certain presentations, and more annoyed when she laid down our check, and then had pick it back up to add a dessert, which was returned in a to go container with the revised check. The table next to ours got their entree and were eating it, before their pre-meal cocktails arrived, when they mention that fact, their server (different server from ours!) did NOT apologize, just stated the bar was backed up. (It wasn't!) In short, neither food nor service met any normal standards in this first visit, we will give it another try in a couple of weeks. Clearly with a full DR on a weeknight at 5PM, Rusty Bucket has to be doing something right, just not able to see it on this first visit. We'll see what happens during...
Read moreI had a great first experience with this restaurant. I only went for lunch, so I got the BBQ chicken chopped salad. While it was good and I did go at lunchtime, I did see that many people there before me did not have their food, so they were having some issues getting the food out very quickly. For me, that was ok. I was not in a rush, and when I got my salad, I could tell my chicken was freshly cooked and seasoned so well. See pic below. The place has a bunch of tvs, even 1 in the men's room, which I thought was unique and fun. I thought the salad was great, and I ordered a bread pudding dessert. My waitress was fantastic and met all my needs. The texture and flavor of the ice cream were so good. I think it's a little overpriced as a salad, and a dessert was still $23, but all in all, it's a nice restaurant. I will try it again in the future. I would recommend trying this place yourself. As you can see in the pics, there is a big covered patio, and we'll parking but if you go during lunch, you may have to walk a little like I did. Read moreMy wife and I ate here a couple weeks ago, I have been too busy to leave a review until now. We make the best burgers around at home on our charcoal grill and are generally disappointed when we go out for burgers on Polaris. Until now, the only places we thought worth visiting were Matt the Miller’s on Gemini and 5 Guys. Now, Rusty Bucket... finally a burger worthy of my time for a review. These are the best burgers served on Polaris, and quite possibly the best in North Columbus. This is the first time in a long time that we didn’t feel like we were overpaying for a low quality product. We both ordered a medium-well burger and that’s exactly what we received, a properly cooked burger. The char was perfect, the fat content was perfect- juicy but not sloppy, the veggies fresh and crisp, and the sweet potato fries were the best I’ve ever had.
We have very high standards when we eat out. We still do it better at home, but when we’re feeling lazy or rain is keeping us from firing up the grill, we know exactly where to go for the next best thing to homemade,...
