Collective Beauty Salon & Med Spa — Attraction in Westfield

I spoke with the owner Tina the next morning after I posted my review. I love that she genuinely showed concern and offer me to come back to the salon to get my hair fix to what I originally wanted. I met with Allie, and she was so sweet. She walk me through the process and was in communication with me at all times. She was able to strip down the dark awful black color, and make it look way closer to what I wanted. Allie would not let me tip her so I gave her a hug! I felt more like myself and she was nothing but wonderful through the entire process. So I did update my rating because Tina and Allie showed me how much they care for me as a client. I would definitely be back, and more likely only see Allie- since she was so pleasant. Thank you so much Tina and Allie- love my new hair color ! ( new pic updated)

Today was my first time visiting an I wasn’t at all very impressed with this salon. Bailey was sweet and nice and yes I still very much tip her because she was kind . However, unfortunately there were a few issues and concerns. First, I arrived 10 minutes early and wasn’t seen till 20 minutes after my scheduled appointment. I understand when it’s busy however when I showed Bailey (the stylist) a picture of what I wanted. She looked at the image one time and never communicated the entire process with me. When it was all set and done’ my hair looked nothing like the pictures. When I mention to her that I felt the color was too dark’ she said within time it would wash out. I said ok, paid $200 when it was all set and done. Then I notice that my hair wasn’t fully washed properly. That my fingers and nails turned black from the dye. I did notice she didn’t run the water underneath my head but I assume she knew what she was doing. So I called the salon twice and all I got was a Verizon connection. I think I tried 3 times, and couldn’t get the call to go through. ( yes I double checked the number) I gave them 3 stars because again both ladies today were nice and polite. Sadly, I don’t believe I will be coming back as I feel very disappointed as this dark color isn’t what I requested. Communication is important to me’ and if I was told they couldn’t give me this same style as my sample. I would have said ok and found someone else who could. But that wasn’t the case at all. Pretty confused with my last appointment at Collective Beauty. This would be my third appointment here and to say it was an experience I’ve never had before over the decade I’ve been getting my hair done. I saw the same stylist I’ve seen the other times but something was off this time. This has nothing to do with the product of my hair because it came out great but the process was crazy. My hair is to my shoulders to start and is not thick at all. I was made aware that extra product may be needed but it was needed not once but twice which sky rocketed the price. For a full highlight and trim with an appropriate tip it was pushing $400!! I just moved here from Denver CO and never had to pay that much. The price was one thing but the service was another. I left this salon with a sore scalp for days. She was incredibly rough throughout the whole process which made me think in the several hours I was there what I may have done wrong. I mean who just takes out a huge brush and starts from the roots and aggressively brushes to the tip just because you couldn’t get a tangle out after shampooing?? We all know you work the knots out which she started to do for 10 seconds before she got the brush and ripped through my hair.. I left with plenty of breakage and damage meanwhile I’ve been a great customer so far coming back in the week intervals that was recommended and buying several products last appointment. I needed a last minute appointment and was able to make one conveniently online with collective beauty! I arrived at the beautiful salon and was already excited by the space and how luxurious it smelled! The woman at the front desk was super inviting and kind! Zoe came up to greet me promptly and we got started right away! I showed her what I wanted and she did exactly that! She was very fun, personable and kind! I loved my haircut and scheduled an appointment with her again! I also really loved that she told me about all the other services they offer (and just in casual conversation she wasn’t trying to get me to do anything else!). She told me about this really cool service they do where they analyze your skin with a photo and can show the sun damage and much more on your face! She even set me up with Victoria an esthetician there to get this service done! It was free! Victoria showed me all of my results and was super informative about all of them! She even emailed the photos to me! This was all FREE! She told me about some services they could do for certain things she saw (like hyperpigmentation, sun damage, sebaceous glands which cause acne). Again she was super informative kind and didn’t push a single thing on me! I can’t wait to go back for my birthday to get one of the recommended facials!
