I’ve been a loyal Marshalls shopper for years, but today’s experience left me extremely disappointed. I was simply sitting on a piece of furniture while waiting for my friend to finish shopping. I had the products that I had chosen to purchase sitting next to me, ready to check out as soon as my friend had finished shopping. As I was just sitting and on my phone minding my own business, a staff member came over and harassed me for no reason. I understand there are store policies, but a more polite and professional approach would have gone a long way, especially because other customers were doing the same thing, and were most definitely not spoken to in the way she spoke to me. This kind of treatment really soured my entire visit, and I’m seriously reconsidering whether I want to shop here again. I don't know if it was because I am younger and she thought I would automatically causing trouble, or for other reasons, but the way she spoke to me was completely out of line, and I genuinely did not know how to react to a staff member speaking to a paying customer that way. Good customer service is all about treating EVERYONE with respect, and unfortunately, that was missing today. This really made me question whether I'll continue shopping here...
