Perfect place to bring a packed lunch and spend a good amount of time playing (if you're a kid) and sitting in the shade (if you're a parent) lol. Love the fences and separate play areas, the huge grassy green is perfect for letting them run/play tag/sit and snack. Did not feel crowded at any point. I also felt good about the amount of space put between the park and the road and parking. I always feel on edge (can't sit) if I am unsure that I can outrun my littlest one were she to go rogue towards cars...that is not the case here!!! Ample grass between her and any traffic. We were there until about 4:30 on a Thursday and just before we left a farmer's market was opening across the street! We'll plan to bring cash and do a little shopping next time for sure! ...
Read moreOne of the larger playground near the DMV. This is a wheelchair accessible playground which is located in Standish Park. It's created to honor the memory of Mikey, a toddler with spinal muscular atrophy. There were two areas: toddlers from 2-5 years old, which was fenced in and an older kids section.
There is a small parking lot, benches, and adult swings. When you first walk in, you will see a "Grandpa Boat" which is a swaying boat. My toddler loved the cars; you can push your child around the playground. I saw a free little library as well as trash receptacles. I saw a gazebo which is nice to sit in on a sunny day. This is definitely one of the nicer playgrounds...
