Main Street Creamery & Cafe — Restaurant in Wethersfield

I happened to be in the area & had heard of Main St Creamery...& that they have vegan options...so I decided to give them a try.

It's located in a quaint little area, in a cute little blue w/white trim cottage-like structure.

I didn't know/realize that they were strictly cash/Venmo & have an ATM inside. Generally I don't support businesses that are cash only🧐... bcuz who actually ever has cash on them these days??? 🤔 But somehow I happened to have just enough for a healthy sized taste of all four flavors available today. {I really wish that businesses would stop doing this practice...makes me wonder about a few ethical issues...AND I ABSOLUTELY REFUSE to get "robbed" at ANY ATM {a.k.a. fees} so really hope businesses rethink this strategy. So bcuz of THIS I knocked 2 stars off, as cash ONLY is a HUGE inconvenience..& i don't want to be "forced" to do either of the other 2 "options"... otherwise I'd given them a better score.

But today they had: Cookie Dough, Vanilla, Chocolate Peanut Butter, & Chocolate Vegan "ice cream" 🍦

If you've never considered and/or ever had vegan "ice cream," you're DEFINITELY missing out!!! This "ice cream" is flavorful, creamy & tasty! I wouldn't have it everyday, as my scale would laugh at me daily. 📈🤣 They also had 3-4 sorbets, which I decided to skip today. But even those sounded delish...from what I can recall of their names...pink lemonade something, coconut, & ??? But again all sounded very tempting!

If/when they drop the cash/etc only "options" I'd like to come...

Not giving one star because they've been so wonderful in the past, but probably the worst experience I've had in a while at any establishment. I am a frequent visitor here and typically have a nice experience, however tonight was very different. I ordered my typical medium soft serve on a cone and when the employee tried to give it to me, it was clearly less than a small portion and completely unformed and running down his hand. I informed him I didnt want this and didnt say this to his face, but i dont believe its fair to pay 7$ for a melted ice cream cone. Typically former employees informed me the soft serve is a little runny and ask if that is okay so I can make a decision before ordering it. This guy however throws the soft serve away and slams the ice cream door shut in front of me so loud it literally alarmed all customers in the shop and walks away without saying anything. I'm not sure if he was having a bad day or what, but throwing a temper tantrum in an aggressive manner isn't the reaction I expected to declining a melted ice cream cone. I don't know what happened to the former staff, they were absolutely wonderful as I haven't visited in a few months due to health reasons, but I don't think I can visit again if I'm going to be met with that type of treatment. Was looking forward to this too as it's been the first time I've been out in public...

I’ve come to this shop for months after work (it’s on the way home ) same order banana milkshake!!! , most of the time they tell me there out of it!!! all signage says they have it … so I wonder is it laziness on the teenagers who are rude most of the time or just act like they hate serving you or are they out of what appears to be a very popular flavor !!! you would think they would just stock more of it !! One guy in the afternoon and one girl are very pleasant the rest stuck up and rude ….then out of nowhere they start charging a buck extra for whipped cream!! I mean seriously an $8 dollar milk shake already… not even cold stone charges for that on a milk shake it’s a standard on most milkshakes or at least always an option!!! If you don’t say anything they won’t even offer it …so please stop being rude !! people work hard for there money and you should be glad some put up with the attitude and still want to come into your boujee Town shop …. Be...
