We found this park one day while searching parks on Google maps. The first thing you notice about this park is the awful parking lot! It is not an asphalt parking lot it is a dirt and Stone parking lot that has many holes in it and if you go between them you might survive to get to a parking space. One spark there is a Porta-Potty, that is the bathroom. The rest of the park contains a long stretch of canal that you can walk on the right side of it and to the right you will notice a small stream if you pay attention and get lucky we'll see some nice wildlife in that stream. Once you get to the end of the canal you will see one of the old locks that used to lift the boats up to the other parts of the canal. There is also the remains of some sort of building there which I do not currently have a history. we walk this canal Park in August and didn't notice any excessive mosquitoes which surprised us. I would recommend this park to anyone that wants to educate their children or even others about the old Morris Canal. There are also information signs posted alongside the right of the cow that you can read and learn more about the...

The annual Wharton canal day festival is a major event with many vendors and a series of entertainment and many historical societies present. The CSNJ leads walking tours and there are usually boat rides and hay rides along but watered section...

To my surprise, I walked down an unmarked path and came upon the former incline plane and this canal park. For a hidden park and upper trail path, I was happy to find this place that I will soon be exploring and visiting more. The incline plane has quite the history and the canal park offers information on this. I'm glad this is one of few not heavily...
