Restaurant Review: Norte 175 in Wharton, NJ Nestled in the heart of downtown Wharton, Norte 175 offers a modern take on classic Tex-Mex cuisine with an inviting ambiance that reflects the charm of small-town Texas. The restaurant’s decor is sleek yet warm, blending contemporary elements with rustic touches. Exposed brick walls and cozy lighting create an atmosphere perfect for both casual outings and special occasions. Food Norte 175’s menu is a delightful mix of traditional and creative dishes. The street tacos are a must-try, with perfectly seasoned meats and fresh, house-made tortillas. The enchiladas are generously portioned, bursting with flavor, and come with your choice of savory sauces. For something unique, try the Norte 175 Burger, which combines classic American flavors with a Tex-Mex twist. Don’t skip the appetizers — the queso and guacamole are both standouts. And for dessert, the churros are a fan favorite, crisp on the outside and served with a luscious dipping sauce. Drinks Their bar menu is equally impressive, offering a wide range of craft cocktails, margaritas, and an excellent selection of beer and wine. The signature margarita, made with fresh lime juice and top-shelf tequila, is both refreshing and perfectly balanced. Service The staff at Norte 175 is attentive and friendly, making every effort to ensure a pleasant dining experience. Service is quick, but you never feel rushed, allowing you to savor each dish. Overall Norte 175 brings big-city flavor to Wharton without losing the warmth of a local favorite. Whether you’re stopping by for a quick lunch, a family dinner, or a date night, this spot is sure to impress. With its delicious food, excellent service, and charming atmosphere, Norte 175 is a gem worth visiting again and again. **Rating: 5/5**

Wharton’s lucky to have a gem like Norte 175—tucked in a spot that’s close to downtown Dover, major highways, and the Rockaway Mall, it’s easy to get to and always worth the stop. The tuna tartare nachos? Next-level. The ribs? Let’s just say I had to stop myself from finishing them so my boyfriend could have a taste (a true act of love!). Even the salmon over rice, simple as it sounds, was elevated with amazing flavor. The bartenders also know their stuff—whether you want a classic or something new, they’ll guide you right. If the atmosphere had the same energy as when they first opened, it would be perfection. But with good company, you’re guaranteed a great time. As a local realtor, I always look for places that add value to the community beyond the homes themselves—and Norte 175 has definitely earned its place as one of those gems.

Today, four of us had the pleasure of dining at Norte 175 in Wharton, NJ, and overall, it was a very positive experience. While there were some small hiccups expected from a newer establishment, the food and service left us eager to return.

Starting with appetizers, the Steak & Chimichurri Tostones stood out as a highlight—delicious and bursting with flavor. The Cheese Quesadillas were grilled to perfection and arrived hot, making for a comforting and satisfying bite. The Grilled Octopus was another winner in terms of taste, though we did feel the portion size was a bit small considering the price.

For our main courses, we sampled the Fish Tacos, Steak Tacos, Grilled Skirt Steak, and the Wharton Burger. Each dish was tasty, well-prepared, and attractively plated. Portion sizes felt appropriate for the pricing, and the flavors hit the mark across the board. The wine selection offered by the glass was varied enough to suit different palates and came at a reasonable cost.

Our server, Ana, was attentive and friendly throughout the evening. While it was evident she was still becoming familiar with the menu and the specifics of each dish, her effort and enthusiasm were appreciated.

The atmosphere of the restaurant was inviting, and the service team worked hard to ensure a pleasant dining experience. One small critique: the valet parking felt unnecessary. The lot is quite spacious, and parking just a few steps away seemed manageable without the added formality.

Despite minor growing pains, Norte 175 shows great promise. With flavorful dishes, reasonable prices, and a welcoming ambiance, it’s a strong addition to the local dining scene. We’re looking forward to seeing how this restaurant evolves as it settles into...

Came in and waited 20 minutes before someone came and gave us water and then waited 5 extra minutes for our server. Young man was amazing and very professional. 2 servers passed by us and did not mind us. This was our first time at the restaurant. About 30 mins into our dinner a group of people walked in waiting to be seated, one couple sat in our section and immediately the same guy that walked passed us twice ran to the couple dabbed the man and serviced them. In less than 10 minutes the couple got there meal , wine glasses , wine and other drinks. My partner and I looked at each other just so shocked and confused. She and I could not understand why all of a sudden change up.

Looked over to the right the bar tender was chugging down shots at the bar and loud.

Our server was a fantastic! The young man was so professional and took the time to greet and speak to us and not just bring our food and leave. He checked up on us from time to time and made sure we were okay.

Also what is a convince fee of $3.93?Then come to find out they charge that because we were there. So I'm so confused, was it an inconvenience for people to come spend spend over $150 just for you to slap a convince fee on their bill ?

Also drinks that are shown on the website when scanned barcode doesn't look no where near what was shown on the website. Asked for another drink, which was a piña colada. To then be told that the machine wasn't working and had to just order a...
