A Hidden Gem in Wharton That Keeps Getting Better!

This evening we had a truly wonderful dinner at Reno’s Pizzeria and Restaurant in Wharton, NJ. From start to finish, everything about our visit was top-notch. Our server, Shirley, was incredibly attentive—friendly, prompt, and made sure we had everything we needed without ever feeling rushed. What really stood out, though, was that Reno himself came by to check in and ensure we were enjoying our evening. It’s not every day you see that level of care and pride from an owner, and it absolutely elevated the experience.

We started with two fantastic appetizers—the eggplant rollatini and little neck clams in marinara sauce. Both were delicious, fresh, and beautifully prepared. For entrees, we chose the mahi mahi in mango sauce special and the shrimp scampi over linguini. Each dish was cooked to perfection and seasoned just right. Compliments to the chef—truly excellent work in the kitchen!

We ended our meal on a sweet note with the mini cannolis, which were perfectly crispy and bursting with flavor.

Although Reno’s (formerly Maria’s) has been a staple in town for some time, their recent expansion into a charming sit-down dining area has added so much to the local dining scene. It’s cozy, welcoming, and a perfect spot for a relaxed and satisfying dinner. Reno’s is a real asset to Wharton, and we’ll definitely be back! ...

This review is coming from a local family who have been ordering from Maria’s/Reno’s for 10 years. Since the renovation started the service has gone out the window. First occasion, I ordered dinner for my family and it took almost 2 and a half hours to get the delivery. When I called, they told me the new computer system didn’t print in the kitchen. I had to call 4 times before they told me it was on its way. Second and third occasion, we get our orders delivered and the orders were wrong. Forth occasion, pizza got delivered and it was cold, almost as if they took it off the rack and never warmed it up. Each time I called to let them know the order was wrong and they blamed me. Telling me that’s what I ordered. This evening, I returned the wrong order personally. While waiting for my order, I asked for 2 desserts, which I ordered and paid for in front of the owner. Once my corrected order came out the owner tells me, “next time you order, let them know you have a credit”. The nerve, he saw me order something else and didn’t offer the credit until I was leaving. Long story short, the service is no longer worth it. We have a million other options. The food is okay, pizza is expensive, and the appreciation for their customers...

I just moved to Wharton and was looking for a new Italian restaurant to replace the one I enjoyed in another town. I downloaded the app and placed my order for delivery with no difficulty. I received an email confirmation of my order, then an email confirming the delivery time. The order was actually delivered 20 minutes early! The young man who made the delivery was respectful and very personable. As he handed me each package he told me what it contained: salad, dessert and meal. Awesome! The food itself was perfect and delicious: shrimp in the basket appetizer, linguini garibaldi meal and chocolate mousse for dessert. Absolutely delicious! Everything was provided from napkins, plasticware, ketchup, salad dressing (side salad more than just lettuce and tomato), cocktail sauce, Italian bread (which over an hour later is still soft showing how fresh and properly prepared for delivery it was). Highly highly recommended this restaurant which is now on my...

These guys are putting a lot into their business. New name and new dining room coming. Lg plain pizza. Delicious crust. One of the best around. Creamy cheese, not rubbery at all and not greasy. Sauce is tangy and seasoned well but has a garlic powder flavor. Delicious pizza. Fresh. 3.5/5. I would definitely recommend. Lg Chic Cutlet sub. I custom ordered, fresh mozzarella, roasted peppers and arugula. Hot, fresh chicken cutlet. Delicious, tender, well seasoned cutlets. Good bread. Huge size. Very fresh!! 4.5/5. Order this if you go. I ordered over the phone. She was very helpful and courteous. She went out of her way to make sure they could accommodate my sandwich order. 5/5 Delivery. The delivery guy had a thermal bag and the food was hot and fresh. 5/5 Reno’s is worth it. 4.5/5. Would absolutely recommend.

Been coming here for many years as a local, moved away and when in town I will still come and eat because food is delicious, prices are good, and staff is friendly. Latest foods eaten were a small pep pizza, hamburger & fries, and pasta prim - all items were very good! I love their antipasto and their sanwiches (cold subs)... Dough used to be made fresh on premises, prob still is because the pizza crust was still really good! Nee addition opening up soon, renovations to restaurant look great but there is still a familiar charm. Accessible parking, family friendly, place is very clean, def a great place to eat!
