If you're ever in the Wheat Ridge area and you want to play some pickleball, or walk the dog, go for a bike ride, let the kids get out some extra energy, have a picnic, or just relax and watch the wildlife and water flow by... This is a place to do it... Prospect Park in Wheat Ridge in my opinion is a park I wish I had when I was a child growing up... Sure we had natural wildlife and we had water and forest and swamps and everything like that but it was all private property You couldn't go and enjoy it and walk through it like you can at Prospect Park... Prospect Park has wildlife, ducks, geese, squirrels, birds, raccoons, I've been seen some horses... It's got multiple place areas for kids, it's got water, the trail goes on forever, the people are polite, it's always clean, besides that it's my local park And I've even slept there... ( Not supposed to do that, but I had a human pillow... Lol ) If you're a female, single, between 25 and 50 And you can see your toes I would like a local guide... Look me up I'm not hard to find I'll even show you the rest of my tattoos!!! So don't stay at home, get out into some sunlight and visit your local parks so make sure you visit Prospect Park and...
Read moreI love to go walking at Prospect park! The walking path stretches from Kipling street to Ward road. There are plenty to trees, wildlife, three lakes, two baseball fields and plenty of room to play football or soccer. There are two small playgrounds, a horseshoe pit, a place for large groups to get together under a roofing, restrooms and a separate bike path. For those who have difficulty walking distances, there are places to stop and rest, plenty of picnic tables plus a path has been made so if you want you can walk closer to the water but if you need to stop there are no benches to sit on. As you go over the bridge and turn right down the path if you're lucky you might catch a glimpse of a red fox behind the wire fence on your left! It's just a peaceful place to sit by the river or to walk the paths by yourself, with a friend or your dog as long as you pick up after your dog and yourself....

Its clever and user-friendly design allows for many uses, with baseball fields, playgrounds, shelters and picnic areas, plus 4 separate attractive lakes that attract fishing, bird watching (e.g. 200 geese landing at dusk, or rare herons nesting). multiple paths allow for local horse riding, carriages, skate boards, e-bikes. Signs note the occasional visits by bears, mountain lions, and coyotes, but not actually a threat to daytime uses. The city-managed park also hosts festivals, music events and annual art shows.
