The day before yesterday, my load was rejected due to issues with the tires on the trailer of my truck, and I was directed to the TA for repairs. After checking in, I sat all night, as I was finally contacted around 1:30 AM. At that point, I asked them to handle the issue in the morning.
The following morning at 10 AM, they were ready to proceed. As instructed, I pulled around and backed into the bay. Several employees came out, took some information, and left, without providing further instructions. About an hour later, I missed a call from the store but immediately returned it. The male employee I spoke with told me, “Oh, nothing—just sit there, and a mechanic will let you know when to back up.” So I did as instructed.
However, it was never communicated to me that they were waiting for breakdown authorization from my company to begin work. I had provided TRISHA, the employee at check-in, with the necessary information to contact breakdown for authorization.
After hours of waiting, I needed to use the restroom in my truck, so I closed the curtains for privacy. Coincidentally, as soon as I finished and sat down, TRISHA knocked aggressively on my door. I asked her to give me a moment to finish, but she continued to knock rudely. When I answered the door, she displayed an unnecessarily confrontational and discourteous attitude. She began rolling her neck and speaking to me in a condescending tone, stating that if I wasn’t going to be serviced, I needed to leave. Confused, I calmly told her that there was no need for her attitude. She claimed I had been sitting there for hours and that other customers needed to be serviced, adding that my company had not authorized the repairs.
When I asked how I was supposed to know they were waiting on authorization, since it hadn’t been communicated to me, she responded, “Well, we called you.” I explained that when I returned the call, I was simply told to wait for further instructions from a mechanic. She and I went back and forth, but at no point did she attempt to de-escalate the situation or find a solution, despite the fact that I was still a customer.
I called the store and asked for her name, as I planned to report her to corporate, which I did. The employee on the phone defended her actions, even though he wasn’t present during the initial interaction. Meanwhile, TRISHA was in the background, loudly and aggressively shouting her name across the store in front of other customers, which was highly unprofessional.
Shortly after, TRISHA returned outside with the site manager, BRANDY. From the moment BRANDY approached my truck, she was defensive, wagging her finger at me and being equally rude. I assume she had already been given a one-sided story by TRISHA. BRANDY informed me they were refusing service and threatened to call the police if I did not leave, even though I had done nothing to warrant such action and was simply waiting for authorization from my company.
During this experience, TRISHA consistently displayed inappropriate and unprofessional behavior. Instead of maintaining a professional demeanor, she stood behind the manager with a smug smile as I was being spoken to. When I politely asked why she was smiling, her response was dismissive and insincere: “I always smile.” This condescending behavior only escalated the situation further, showing that she had no interest in resolving the issue...

Staff accused us of selling stuff (when we were exchanging keepsakes and totem pieces with other travelers of similar spirits) and asked us to leave,(1/18/19) we corrected them on thier accusation and left anyway. We returned several times after that for the same charging of devices and laundry, etc with no issues(1/19-21/19) until today when the owner outright said "you can't live here" as if our daily pitstop there to charge devices and use other (paid) facilities meant we were trying to live there.
So, lost 4 stars based on our weeks of observation and patronage at this particular TA.
P.S. Dont let them try to tell you the city has a law about none CLD drivers not being allowed to be there more than two hours... we checked, the CITY has no such law.
That is a business rule of thier making and enforcement.
(Denver municipal code section 54-420 ... if you haven't moved your vehicle at least 100ft from the parking space in the posted timeframes, you are in violation. So, by CITY LAW as long as you fire your vehicle up an re-park 100 ft from where you were, you're technically obeying business and city laws.)
1/18/19 Had been stopping in to get bananas, do laundry, and shower since my Twin and I got to Denver, CO. Regular kind of clean. Mostly nice staff, you'll know who the insincere employees are. Lost a star for not asking questions when questions would have made the experience less awkward and uncouth. Lost another star for hiding behind policy that didn't even apply to the situation. Great place for passing...

Seriously? There is NO WHERE safe for dogs to relieve themselves here. Having not been from, or to, this area before, I had NO IDEA about these picker things, (called sand burrs,) in the grass. I had to spend an hour picking them from my dogs paws, from the carpeting in my vehicle and from my shoes. Not to mention that the ONLY area to let them out is INFESTED with these pickers. The dogs are seriously scared to use the bathroom here now and one relieved herself right in the parking lot.
There NEEDS to be a sand burr free area for pets to go potty and there NEEDS to be signs to warn people NOT TO LET THEIR DOGS OUT IN THIS INFESTED GRASS. I pray I don't get a vet bill from this, but I promise you this... I'll be contacting this business if I do.
So, I did some research on this picker bush and here's what I came up with... TA TAKE HEED. This MAY save you a LAWSUIT. (Depending of my dogs are OK.)
Colorado Gardening reports that you can use a pre-emergence herbicide containing pendimethalin to prevent sand burr germination. Established sand burrs can be controlled with glyphosate, but this herbicide also kills desirable plants and must be carefully applied.
The only reason that this business got any stars at all, is because there was an INCREDIBLE waitress, Tana, on our 10/4/18 night shift visit. She was super friendly and fun. THAT girl is the real...
