Keswick Jewelers
For some reason, I didn’t think to ask for advice from my married friends. I thought I had a handle on this… how hard can it really be to buy an engagement ring? Then you walk into the store and whoa. That’s a lot of options. My now-wife is originally from New Orleans and I wanted to find a ring in which they could engrave a fleur-de-lis. After looking through the glass at dozens of rings, and quickly doubting my ability to make a decision, Caroline suggested that we design a ring together.
“Seriously? On the budget that I just gave you?” “Absolutely.”
Caroline proceeded to sketch the few ideas that I had, was able to make some tweaks that she suggested (and that I was comfortable with). Minutes later, boom, was my vision for an engagement ring on paper. Caroline and Julia continued to work with me on choosing the metal, finding the right diamond, reviewing a 3D model of the ring, and allowing me to make changes whenever I had second thoughts.
But what mattered most is what SHE thought of the ring, my future partner for life. To my relief and gratitude, it was “perfect” (something that many other people iterated to her upon seeing it for the first time). Leading up to the wedding, Keswick would check for any flaws and even polished it a week before the ceremony. Needless to say, based upon on the experience with the engagement ring, we entrusted them to help us find wedding bands that spoke to us.
In my mind, virtually everything that led up to our wedding day was perfect. And it really started with a stroll into a downtown Arlington Heights jewelry store, pretending that I knew what I was doing, and then gratefully deferring to a professional to work WITH me on something special rather than trying to just sell me on something in one of their display cases. Caroline was a creative, patient, and supportive part of our wedding process. And positive experience like ours is something you just can’t get on...
Read moreI cannot sing enough praise about this jeweler! Huge thank you to the Head Jeweler Mariusz, who's work is absolutely stunning, and to his staff who have all been incredibly kind and patient with me. I've spoke w/ Caroline and Danny the most (both absolutely lovely) but all his staff are wonderful!
Initially I visited for a custom ring consultation which Caroline helped me design - there was a bunch of "junk jewelery" I had on the side that was never being worn, and I wanted to turn it into something unique that I could wear everyday. After consulting with her and Mariusz on the final design and modifying the wax model al couple times, my old gold jewelery was melted down and the stones repurposed into the gorgeous ring pictured. It is so beautifully made, and the quality of the manufacturing is undeniable. I get compliments everywhere I go, and the band is so well-fitted and comfortable that I can wear it all day without any problems at all!
Besides the custom job, I have also brought in numerous pieces for repair and have purchased some items from their display cases as well. All the repairs were perfectly done, and I can wear some old pieces again that haven't been worn in 10+ years. Of the pieces I bought from their display, everything was just as well made as the custom ring I commisioned, and very reasonably priced as well. They have a beautiful selection, and most anything can be modified by request as needed. I was particularly worried about a bracelet I purchased that is being worn as an aklet (the chain is very thin), but it has held up beautifully so far, despite constant wear and tear.
This was a bit of a longer review, but I really wanted to share just how happy I am to have chosen this shop to do business with. I don't think I would have gotten the same level of service or quality from most other jewelers. Really wonderful shop, I highly reccommend them even for the tiniest jobs that need to be done.
Thank you...
Read moreIf you want a beautiful ring that no one has, this is the place to get it made. The staff there is very helpful when it comes to answering your questions or getting you things you need for your ring on time. The process is simple to getting your ring made. Mariusz worked with me and came up with some neat designs based off my input. He would draw them out for me and we would talk about them and he'd get my input and update the design. I had the diamonds selected out fairly quickly since they would give me a list of diamonds that I asked for. I would pick them out and they would arrive quickly for me to view them. They where good at teaching me how to quickly identify features in the diamond. Once the designs or diamonds where selected, Mariusz worked quickly to get me a 3d printout of the ring. If I wanted things altered, Mariusz would alter it and I'd come back and see the alterations. Everything felt like I had control over it which is a very nice feeling. When they called me to let me know that the ring was finished, I was very nervous to come see it because I didn't know what to expect. I was surprised tho because the ring looked fantastic, beyond what I expected to see. Mariusz really spent some time on it to get it to look great. It's been almost a week since I proposed but my fiance still loves to show the ring off to me. The staff will also help you out when it comes to insuring rings. I didn't know one thing about it but they told me enough about insuring it that I was able to call up insurance company and get the ring insured just in case something happens. If you want something special for your loved one, I suggest you come here and get her something unique. With the people here, it's not hard to make...
