Out of state homeless encampments serviced by some misguided local charities make this trail truly dangerous. Two years ago, on a run here, I encountered a homeless man chasing a youth with a switchblade. I had to walk behind the man with a knife to get back to my car. He said he was not from here and would not live in housing if made available. The responding police officer said police feel pressure not to address the threat these camps pose because of the moral grandstanding of a few charities. Wheeling needs to reduce camps on these trails and compel those living in tents to reassimilate and get needed treatment to truly improve...

Google took us to a dog park and walked us around a baseball field and up a set of stairs in the hill to access the trail. Trails easy to walk on, paved,gravel and well trimmed..
