An Undesirable Experience

I rarely take the time to leave reviews, but after dining at Perkins Restaurant & Bakery, I felt compelled to tell others about my experience. First off, the interior of this restaurant looks like it is poorly maintained. The overall vibe is uncomfortable, run-down, and unwelcoming, and the tables were not cleaned. Our waitress was about to sit us down in a booth but then said "sorry no, that one is actually dirty."

As for the service—our waitress was unprofessional, did not know the menu and what I even ordered. We were left waiting far too long for menus, drinks, and even the check. When we asked simple questions about the menu, she gave us vague answers. After a very long wait for our drinks, and then another long wait for our food, I asked for a side of dipping sauce. I did not receive the dipping sauce at all, and no one checked on our table until we already finished our food and wanted to get out of there with our receipt.

When we finally got our food, the eggs and hash browns were cold and undercooked, and the pancakes were definitely overcooked.The prices charged for the meals were overpriced, especially for the quality of food and service on offer. Dined in at around 12pm, and it was not busy at all. My fiancé and I got a seat right away but it took a while for us to get drinks or to have a server to our table. Once he came to our table we put in food and drinks. Took longer then usual to get food, which is fine maybe it’s slower in the kitchen. But what annoyed us the most is that the manager was asking all the other tables along side the walls if everything was okay except for our table! That just shows poor management. To also mention we are a mixed couple, and we were getting weird looks from staff and customers already. Back to our sever... we got the food but he never came back to ask us if we were okay or if we needed a refill on drinks. We finished our food and put the plates at the end of the table, and he still did not come over to us. Me and my business partner enjoyed a good meal after a hard day of work. I had a break fast plate eggs bacon and french toast and a bottomless cup of coffee. And really enjoyed a pre meal snack on a tasty cinnamon roll a whole lot better than I had expected. I'd like to say that my French toast was a bit too soggy and I was bummed out. But the other was perfect. I will now know to request to make sure my French toast is well done not soggy from now on. My eggs were perfect and bacon was delicious.

My service from my server was spot on we left a good tip of 29%

My business partner had a lunch plate that he rather enjoyed with a bottomless cup of tea and milk just the only option was black tea. And not any other options. We were both given our own little cup of milk for our beverage.

And fortunately there was plenty of room for bobtail parking in and out.

Overall it was a good choice for our meals. But not a place we would like to come back to.
