One of my favorite places in Los Angeles County. Its beautiful lake that covers at least 5 hectares of the park surrounded by beautiful trees that provide shade to all visitors, with picnic tables where you can appreciate the beautiful White feathers and iridescent colors, that is to say, the ducks that friendly approach you in search of a free snack, some of them are species that I had never seen before, like the ones you have.A strange and showy white plumage on top of the head resembling an afro hairstyle looks hilarious and really to this day I do not understand what is inside That crazy groovy hair.🙄🤔🤔🤔🤯🤯👀🪿🦆. There is only one detail that I find extremely unpleasant in Whittier Narrows "...
And respecting the point of view of others, my point of view about the sport fishing that takes place in said recreational park seems to me criminally insensitive, detestable, malevolent and senseless.I still can't understand how it is possible that people are allowed to the people To harm those poor creatures (fish) by allowing them to bite a hook that penetrates their tissue and that also has a sharp trap so that the hook cannot come out of the tissue. And so being able to catch the fish if this practice were aimed at the consumption of said species would not have any problem but knowing that these ruthless people will remove that hook from their mouths Of these poor little fish, without caring about the torture, pain and wounds that are being caused to them, only to then let them fall back into the water and escape with an open and painful hole in their mouth.Human beings for the most part completely lack an endogenous system of empathy towards all other living beings on this planet and towards their own species. They do not have the psychological or emotional capacity to at least try to put into perspective how they would feel being in the place of those creatures, which to be honest I would love to see.I imagine a lake full of human beings swimming naked and being caught by huge hooks that easily fall into the trap due to the hunger they have for being confined in said lake and that They could feel all that pain and torture caused to other species I can't even imagine what their drastic change in point of view, actions and thoughts would be like upon returning to normal. Anyway, years ago I finally understood that one of the purposes There's no need to promote leadership actions in the world, so I'll just settle for feeling relieved by expressing my...
Read moreCross path to El Monte tree shade some leaves fall on the car and the wind on freeway 60 Los Angeles blows them away. There are closet bowls they always have toilet paper. They closed on me one day I fell asleep, I woke up the gate was closed at 6pm the entrance off of San Gabriel. I was so lost finding the 60 I had to detour in a city I’m not familiar with but I started to google 60 freeway, made it. Im gone before 6 always now. I have too many number 6 in my paragraph. lol. But this one and 3rd/ Milken I think Civic center, there’s a court , probation adapt. library, east Los Angeles. Narrows isn’t no Jack, I mean joke, it’s recreational where it’s perfect because this park Whittier Narrows across the street is a shooting range. I heard gunshots. From Miles away. It’s has an echo. Any day I’ll go. Haven’t been when it rains. Any restrictions I don’t know. Maybe not. Any day except when it rains. Civic center works. I’m going to say out of all Los Angeles and the zoo Whittier narrows rates a 10 for overall capacity within acres of recreation and business. Like the trees and trash cans outside and gulf frisbee and much more who knows. This park is full of surprises, the best is them that bring along doggos. Some electric scooters, today a person backup his truck took out an avocado from an opossum cage trap and tossed the avocado at a tree. Today a bird crapped on my vehicle it’s not a complaint all birds are well fed less chat and people on drugs, these birds get food for free. Narrows likes me and I like eating el pollo loco and mc Donald’s at the park Whittier narrows. Sleeping is a breeze this area narrows the wind has a contract to put me asleep without any fears or concerns, it’s not recommended for the weak, narrows belongs. Strangers/Friends/Family picnic area and playgrounds. Park deserves the whole world...
Read moreThis is a lovely park with two ponds and an unbelievable amount of beautiful birds. I never even knew this park was here despite it being over 1,300 acres.
I recently learned not to feed birds bread/cereal/popcorn because it can seriously harm them by causing malnutrition, deformities, intestinal problems, or deadly infections. It's better to give them healthy treats like dry or cooked oats, grains, cooked brown rice, duck pellets, birdseed, fruits, or vegetables instead. The birds at this park didn't seem aggressive to people - although the squirrels were - however, in one picture I took where we were feeding the birds, I counted around 200 of them...literally.
There are things to do, like rent a boat or go for a ride in a surrey. You can walk, run, play, fish, work out, and have a picnic. It's only $7 to park, and there is plenty of parking. There were many people, but it didn't feel crowded. People brought dogs, but they were all on-leash, and they cleaned up after them. There were many families and couples, but not many unsavory characters. There does not seem to be a problem with loitering or panhandling here.
Also, I hate to mention this if you didn't know, but don't let the Google results about the dead bodies scare you. We didn't see any while we were there, and I don't think any of the bodies were murders. I was there with family and children and teens and never felt unsafe. I was a little nervous with the circle of hundreds of waterfowl closing in on me, but everything turned out okay, and they left quickly once I ran out of food. I highly recommend this park, and I frequently try out different parks. This was one of the...
