It's a great park! It's very beautiful being right next to the river, and it has a lot of wide open space. I used to play at this park as a child and can attest to it being very fun haha! It has lots of things to climb and play on, and it has left me with amazing memories. My favorite part about McCormick Park is the wonderful sense of community it has; many special events are held here, and every Thursday they have Music in the Park. The eldercare home I work for regularly attends this event and they all love it!! This year they had an Elvis impersonator and it put a huge smile on their faces, very precious!! Unfortunately, there are some things that detract from its beauty, the most notable of which is the dog poop. I love bringing my dog for walks here, but she often ends up sticking her nose in another dog's poop; this is a good way to spread dangerous diseases amongst dogs, and it's just plain gross! I once wanted to sit on a dock overlooking the river with my dog, but there was dog poop smeared all over the floor! Another thing that detracts from the beauty, is all the unkempt weeds along the river; it has been this way for a long time, which is unfortunate because it is such an easy fix! Overall, it is a great park and I take my dog for a walk here almost every day. I would definitely recommend this park, but beware of the geese, they...

Something for everyone! We stopped here to stretch out legs and with off some energy on the playground equipment for our littles before continuing our journey. A safe, well-maintained playground with plenty of climbing, jumping, swinging, digging, and running opportunities. Completely fenced with only one entrance/exit per age group! Lots of space to run outside the fenced area. Beautiful path right along the river. Bathrooms right next to the concert shell. The only downside I can see is that the bathrooms are far from the playground... spoken like a potty...

Excellent playground. Fantastic five out of five. Lots of real estate to work with, got a playground for big kids and for little kids and the little kid playground isn’t bad like they actually put effort into it. It actually looks fun. The big kid playground had some cool catacombs underneath the play structure and the whole thing look like a giant castle (which is super cool), a variety of swings, it got Spinny things it’s got the back-and-forth bouncy things a sand sandbox! Not a lot of playgrounds have sandboxes anymore. They don’t have the guts, but...

Great park, will bring my daughter here. Kayak and canoe beware : we launched here with plans to travel into Lansing for pickup. Log jams everywhere, like everywhere in fall 2016. We probably paddled/pulled our way through 5 and had to paddle to shore and pull our kayaks around 20 more...1 additional note is small segment of rapids pictured. Though small and brief, this was enough to get a friend completely wet in his 10' sit-in lake kayak.

The park was inviting. Very clean and the picnic tables were nice, although some were warped. I loved the the wood carvings, around the park. I even took pictures to show friends and family how beautiful they are. The wild flowers were very pretty, along the waters edge. It was a very nice experience.

This park is amazing for young children!!! The enormous play structure keeps my boys actively playing for hours. There is also a fishing pier to use on the Red Cedar River with a board explaining what fish are in the river and what bait to use to catch the fish!
