It wasn't just a meal, it was an experience. My husband and I had our anniversary dinner here last week. We enjoyed both specialty cocktails with a frosty winter theme, shared stories with both the owner and the bartender and dined on the best food we had eaten in years. We felt like we had been invited into a friends home but somehow also managed to eat at the chefs table. It was warm, inviting, memorable and delicious. River House Inn is a delight to both the palette and the eyes. The onion soup is worth the trip (just what do they put in there to make it so good). Deconstructed chicken pot pie manages to be comfort food with a fine dining level of taste and presentation. It isn't just delicious, it actually makes you want to kick your shoes off and listen to stories and tell a few tails of your own. If you are ever in Williamston, stop to take a meal here. Actually, make it a point to go to the River House Inn and make it your destination. Well done River House. Thank you for all that you provided without...
Read moreAbsolutely terrible!!! Pandemic or not!!! We stopped in Friday 10/30/21 because it was quaint and a house turned into a restaurant. We walked into an empty lobby and had to go looking for a person to greet us. A woman, I think the owner came out of a back room after I called out "hello!". She sat us at a table and walked away, no menus, no water, just walked away. There was one woman behind the bar making drinks for people out on the patio totaling ignoring us and one young man drawing tap beer. My wife and I were the only people in the restarunt. Later the woman behind the bar tells the guy to go ahead and wait on us. He drops menus on the table and walks away. He comes back to take our drink order and brings me a bottle of Great Lkes porter that was four yesrs old. He walked away and didn't come back to take our order. I threw five bucks on the table and we walked...
Read moreIf you're planning a special evening and want to make reservations at a nice restaurant in Williamston - DON"T GO TO THE RIVERHOUSE INN!
We made reservations for Valentine's Day for a 6 PM dinner at the Riverhouse Inn six weeks in advance. When we arrived we were told they had cancelled our reservation (yes - we were on time). No reason given. They said they were really too busy and the best they could do was seat us at a pub table, but they'd throw in a bottle of house wine. Since we had made our reservations with the intention of sitting on chairs and not bar stools, we declined.
Our advice if you'd like a nice dinner - skip the Riverhouse Inn. There are a number of other restaurants in Williamston with food just as good or better that are also professional enough to honor your...
