An intimate, pleasant zoo in the north part of the city. If you have kids, definitely take them here if you can. If you don't, I still recommend coming here anyway, because it is a enriching and beautiful experience. You won't have to spend a lot of time here. It is not that hard to navigate the zoo, and will not take that long. If you come here in the winter months, admission is free, and you don't need to buy a ticket. The process of coming in is actually quite easy and simple. The downside is that not all the animals are here in the winter months, but a lot of them still are present. This collection includes the adorable and quite lovely red pandas, always a highlight. I have to say that my favorite moment of my trip to the zoo was probably the condor, a graceful and somber creature that I was able to get quite close to. It is large, and every majestic feather glistens darkly in the sunlight. There is a little white ruffle across the neck, and there is an exotic--yet familiar somehow--majesty to this bird that by itself make the trip worthwhile. Whatever your interest, I hope that you will find something worthwhile and compelling here. If you're in Wilmington and you have some time to spare, definitely come here, especially if...

I purchased the “red panda encounter” experience and I feel completely scammed. The advertisement makes it seem like you’ll actually get to interact with the animal, but in reality they charge $50 extra per person just to feed a couple of grapes on a stick through the fence. This is not clearly stated in the activity description.

On top of that, the logistics were very poorly managed: by the time it was our turn, several other visitors had already gone before us, so the panda was full and simply ignored us. After weeks of waiting and looking forward to this experience, it turned out to be frustrating and extremely disappointing.

I am a neurodivergent person, and situations like this affect me deeply. It’s not just about the money, it’s about the lack of transparency and consideration for visitors. I strongly recommend the zoo to be honest in their advertising and improve their organization, because as it is now, it only creates disappointment and feels like they are playing with people’s...

Doesn’t even deserve one star!! the staff was ignorant and the lady with short hair was the biggest B** ( excuse my language but I don’t care I’m mad) all the pictures they show are fake or old!! It’s fraud they shouldn’t charge any money and online it does say free but I paid because I thought it might have been nice NO!THEY SHOULD ADVERTISE THAT ITS SMALL AND NOT A LOT OF ANIMALS ARE THEIR I don’t care who gets mad at my comment it’s a free country you don’t like it don’t read it, and I will tell everyone and KEEP complaining!! And you know what I wouldn’t have even been mad if the ignorant employee wasn’t as ignorant as she was I would have just accepted I wasted money no and she was lucky my family was their because I would have REALLY told her about herself her Boss needs to teach her some customer service skills!!like I said I will tell everyone and...

This is a very small Zoo nestled in a very nice park in Wilmington delaware. I wouldn't expect much in terms of size, but the staff is all very friendly and the animals are all very cute and fun to watch I went on a Tuesday morning with my mother and we were able to complete the whole park in about 45 minutes I was very impressed with the amount of caregivers I saw in the animals' enclosures, whether they were feeding them or tidying up the enclosure. the staff were all very friendly. If you wanted you could bring a picnic for afterwards and enjoy that by the creek. Parking was free and I thought the parking lot was a little small. They have a nice little gift shop. I don't think the snack stands were open so I can't comment on that. I would recommend this place for a quick outing before you go out for lunch or dinner.
