This park has been open for a few years and is maintained very well. It is divided into large dogs and small dogs. The majority of pet owners are good about monitoring their pet for anti-social or outright agressive behavior of their pet. But generally this is more of an exception than a rule.

BE SURE TO NOT HAVE ANY VALUABLES IN YOUR CAR. Smash & grab car break ins are frequent particularly with females who leave their purses in their vehicle. Police do monitor the park during peak times but just don't leave the valuables in the car and you won't have an issue.

My only complaint is that it is only open on very "flexible" hours. Many times the gate will be closed well after 7:00am but will be open well after dark. Wish it had flood lights and would be open 7:00 to 7:00 or 8 to 8 to allow those who work 9-5 to use the park during the week or after the sun has gone down and it starts to cool off. Taking the pup in the mid day sun is uncomfortable for him and me.

Wish there was a wading pool or sprinklers where fido could...

Tonight was my first time bringing any of my dogs to this dog park. It’s a beautiful park with seating and plenty of shade. One major problem, the big dog side is full of bufo toads (the poisonous frogs) and my dog got ahold of one of them and immediately started foaming at the mouth. This isn’t the first time this has happened to one of our dogs so we pretty much know what to do. You have to immediately wash their mouth out and then take a rag or any cloth you have and wipe their gums and tongue and basically the whole inside of their mouth out as quick as possible. This could’ve easily killed my dog tonight and I hope nobody else goes through this and I certainly hope nobody loses their dog to this. The frogs that I seen are on the northeast side of the big dog area by all the trees and wet leaves that are on the ground. Parks and recreation needs to do something about this before somebody loses their fur baby. Me and my family would’ve been heart broken if anything would’ve happened to...

Always a lot of dogs and the owners are generally great folks and responsible. I like that there's a sidewalk around the entire perimeter. I can get my steps in while my puppers runs off her energy.

There's a fenced in area with gravel, dog pools, and drainage. Pro tip, if you bring a 20 oz bottle be sure to leave your bottle caps in the basket on the fence near the hoses. The pool drains fit those bottle caps so it's nice to have spares around.

Generally people will hang out by the gate to let dogs in and out. If you don't want your dog to get wet, be sure to just let anyone hanging around that and they'll keep them out for you.

There is one filthy puddle along the fence line that's half in and half out of the fenced in area. It's a problem because if you're trying not to have to bathe your dog that they, they will probably lay down in it if they get overheated.

Other than that, this is really my favorite dog park so far in the Ft. Lauderdale area. The people really...

This is a nice community asset for Oakland Park. I was dog-sitting my brother's family's dog for a long weekend and took her here to run free. She was 25 pounds so she could go into either the small dog or large dog area since that's the breakpoint. There is a paved parking lot with some tree coverage, a public restroom, two fenced in areas and water available. There was doggie bathing pool and seats for humans to sit on. There is some noise from I-95 traffic and the Tri-Rail trains tracks are very close so keep doggie on leash outside fenced in area. People I encountered were all friendly and I didn't see any vagrants hanging around the park.
