I URGE EVERYONE READING THIS REVIEW TO LOOK AT THE PICTURES I'VE POSTED, THE EVIDENCE DOESN'T LIE!!!
I came in February 2019 to get my 13 inch rose gold HP Envy fixed because the laptop screen was broken. I took it in and they charged me $400+ dollars to replace the screen. They assured me that it was the best price they could give me. After looking around the store I realized that they were charging me relatively the same amount as you would for their refurbished laptops. Nonetheless, I went ahead and continued with the service because I needed a quick fix because I had important work to do for my job and school. Once I got my laptop back I instantly realized a drastic difference. Instead of replacing the screen with a rose-gold screen I got a silver screen (I now have a 2 toned laptop). Also, the quality and texture of the screen was not the same, it felt incredibly cheaper than what it originally was. I asked about these differences and all I received was a "it's the best that we could've gotten". KEEP IN MIND I NEVER DROPPED MY LAPTOP, SAT ON IT, ETC, SINCE IT WAS BROUGHT IN!!! 2 months in I began to feel the screen separating from the backing of the laptop. I brought it in and stated my complaint, they checked and said "there's nothing noticeably wrong with your laptop" I urged them that there was an issue but they insisted there was nothing they can do because they don't see anything. It's now June 2, 2019 and my laptop screen is completely separated from the backing of the laptop. I paid $400+ to get a new, functioning screen, from what I thought was a professional place, instead I received a $50 job and a damaged laptop. I now have to spend extra on "refixing" what they further damaged. Read moreWe recently experienced a situation where we not only needed immediate on-site help at our house but due to what appeared to be another security issue, we had to call our technician on his cell on a Friday night about 2 hours after he left our home and then bring my laptop into the shop in Windsor the next day for a complete "wipe". The technician who came to our house (only about 2 hours after my husband reached out) was Donavan Green and he continued to work with us until things were resolved.
I cannot begin to express how incredibly responsive and helpful he was! During what was a very stressful time, he not only took care of the situation, but also had such a calming way about him that provided a great deal of comfort and confidence in what he was doing.
Now that this particular situation is resolved, we feel like we gained a friend and computer expert in Donavan should we need help in the future and you can be sure that PC Development Group and Donavan Green will be...
Read moreI had a portable Hard Drive that died with a copy of a back up that I wanted. Came in and spoke with Stan at PC Development Group who checked it out, ran diagnostics and gave me my options for recovery. Turns out that even stripping the exterior and trying to mirror it to a new drive would probably fail. However, when I explained how the back up was created, Stan was able to show me that the copy I needed was still available in the place it was originally created!
I always get so frustrated when I go into the big box stores like Best Buy to try and get some help. You always have to wait around, then the person you talk to doesn't know anything, you wait for the 'expert' to become available only to have them tell you to buy something new.
What is so great about local places like PC Development Group is that you get great service, from real experts, and no sales baloney. When my daughter is ready for her first computer, this is where I plan on going. My experience here...
