Passing through town for work I stopped here for a late dinner. The fact they were the only restaurant open until 10 for miles was a big factor in my decision. Huge parking lot and an unassuming exterior. Once inside I saw a somewhat uncomfortably bright bar area on the left and a very well appointed dining area on the right. The waiter who greeted me was exceedingly generous, welcoming, and formal - very old school. The presentation of the food was outstanding - rarely is this much care put into appearances, and this truly made each dish special. In terms of flavor, the caprese salad needed a little more salt and balsamic vinegar, but was overall very good. The sauce on the snapper francaise was wonderfully rich and lemony. I decided to pass on dessert, but my waiter brought me a complimentary house sambuca which was surprisingly satisfying. The high level of formal service, presentation of the food and the well decorated dining area could make this an ideal location for a date. There are some expensive items on the menu, but it looks easy enough to keep things affordable if desired. I was the only one in the dining room when I finished, but I did arrive very late so I don't think I can comment on how busy they get. I would definitely dine here again.

It was our first time dining at a restaurant in Windsor, and Windsor Steak & Seafood honestly blew us away! First of all, the rolls that were brought to the table were amazing! Super garlicky, with a little bit of what I think was a red pepper kick - so good! My fiancé loved his raspberry mule, and I really enjoyed the mocktail they made me. Appetizers of the calamari and meatballs were both good. The NY strip was a great medium rare, and the presentation on the nice board was so nice. My linguine with clams was delicious too. The tiramisu seemed to still be a bit frozen, but I could tell it was homemade. The waitstaff and kitchen staff are both to be commended for how quickly everything came out, without us feeling like we were rushed. I couldn’t believe we were done in under an hour! If I had to note one area of improvement, it would be the ambiance. I do feel like the lighting was a little harsh, and the dining area could be made to feel a bit cozier. If I’m in Windsor again, I will absolutely keep this restaurant in mind!

We live nowhere near here but wanted a lamb dinner on Easter and after much searching my partner selected this place because they did not reduce their menu. He thought that meant a well run place with good staff. He was right. Hissummary of the meal was everything was cooked to perfection and the temperatures were perfect... from the hot garlic rolls to the club soda with not too much ice, the prosecco was perfectly chilled, the Chardonnay was too, the apps.. crab cakes and escargot were great too... seasoning was well done too... the escargot had lemon and butter and enough garlic to know it was escargot but it was metered (and I love garlic). The meals were hot and cooked to desired doneness. Sauce on the lamb was perfect. Veggies were cooked well too... not mushy. Lastly we saw some kids order ice cream sundaes and followed their lead, but with some kahlua! Sorry forgot pictures until the end! Highly recommend! Staff was super btw.

I have food allergies (garlic, onions, chives...), so I asked for the Eggplant Parmesan to be Eggplant Alfredo with Parmesan. It was an enjoyable combination. Most red sauces have garlic and onion(basically, the majority of the menu), so I was pleased to know that they were willing to make the alteration.

The service was great and lively, very overwhelming, which I expect from a new restaurant.

The food was tasty. My mom did mention to the waiter that the ribs were a bit hard at the ends; the waiter responded with supportive words for the cook, and I appreciated his honesty.

My glass of wine (a Moscato) was lovely and full of fruitful notes and a small amount of chill that tastes great during these hot, summer months.

This particular building was home to a prior restaurant, so it felt strange to not have any booth seating. The room felt more upscale and less family oriented (which is about preference).

The dinner prices were on the higher end, but lunch specials were a bit less and for the same quality.

I hope this place succeeds. Windsor is having a high turnover rate with new restaurants; it's a difficult time for non-chain eateries. But I tell you what, when CT was hit with Hurricane Alfredo (I think that's the name), it was small businesses that used their generators to tie us over, offering free Wi-Fi and battery charging. And they did this while tending to the destruction their homes endured.

So, let's give smaller restaurants a chance. I'm sure they'd return the favor by working on bettering their food and service. Or...we'll soon be stuck with Fast Food Dine-in Chain restaurants and their frozen and...

We've been here twice and had terrible service both times. The first time we came (wife, two daughters, and myself) our waitress recommended that my wife switch her order to a less expensive dish, as she once had young children of her own and knows how hard it is to afford to dine out. Though I was very insulted, I figured that her heart was likely in the right place and she just misspoke.

The second time we came (wife, son, daughter, and myself) we stopped in after a 4 hour drive home from vacation. We were dressed in jeans, sneakers, and sweatshirts and immediately felt judged based on our appearance. It took a little while to be seated, then they put us in the middle of the restaurant, with a baby, after we asked to be seated at the open table against the wall. Our service was very inattentive and sporadic, and we were made to feel very unwelcome.

As for the food, it was unremarkable. My steak on the first visit (ordered medium rare) was barely warmed on one end and medium well on the other. The veal on our second visit was good.

As someone who runs a large business, I can't imagine the opportunities I would have missed had I judged clientele by their outward appearance. Our family enjoys dining out a few times a week and we won't be returning to this establishment. Had I arrived in one of the designer suits I'm forced to wear to work, or pointed out that my family arrived in easily the most expensive vehicle in the parking lot, I'm confident that our experience would have been different. Very...

I wish i had a positive experience here. But i DID NOT!

I made Friday night reservations at The Windsor Steak and Seafood restaurant in hopes of celebrating my daughters Birthday.

We showed up on time. Were seated at our table. Given our menus, and given bread and water.

Then two minutes later our waitress come up and tells us that she has bad news. "There is no food" Yes, you read that correctly. She said they had just seated a large party and because of that my daughters and i were unable to be served. I asked if she could ask the chef to put our party of 3 food orders in ahead of the large partys order since its only 3 of of us. And i was told No.

I asked if i could speak with the manager as I'd made reservations to be here and was celebrating a Birthday. I was told the manager is also the chef and he was busy cooking.

Long story short, we left the restaurant. Disappointed, frustrated, and hungry.

You try finding another decent restaurant last minute on a Friday night and you will understand how hard it was to find another place to go to and try not to have the entire night ruined by this not so great experience while at Windsor Steak and Seafood.

The chef never came out to apologize or anything. I will never go back. Terrible experience on what should have been a joyous occasion. Why accept our reservation, and why even seat us to have to experience this denial of...
