This place is truly special. I stumbled onto this little gem while trying to avoid an accident on 91. I was in desperate need of some caffeine to keep me going, and The Bean @ 226 hit the spot.
The entire atmosphere was fantastic. You could feel the good vibes the moment you set foot inside. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, and you can tell they love their customers, the customers love the staff, and the customers even love each other. It's been a long time since I've been to a place where everyone was greeting one another and happy to see faces both familiar as well as new faces.
I didn't try any of the delicious treats, but they looked incredible. The coffee is fantastic. Seriously one of the best almond milk lattes I've ever had. It seems like they have some really nice specials and their prices are totally in line with any competitors.
I love businesses that strive not only to provide great service, but also act as ambassadors for bringing members of the community together. I don't get to Windsor often, but I will definitely be going back for the delicious coffee and positive energy the next time I"m...
Read moreThe Bean @226 is absolutely the place that you want to be. Everything about this coffee shop puts a smile on my face. Back when we were house hunting in 2018, we knew that we wanted to live in Windsor, CT because of the beauty in the center of town, a core part of which was the quintessential downtown coffee shop that feels like home-away from home. I'm happy to say that I live in Windsor and go to The Bean @226 at least once a week to get my coffee fix and to just absorb the culture of this small and diverse town.
The owner always has a smile, good energy, and kind words for all guests. And you know that the vibe is right because there's a water dish outside for dogs and benches for anyone to relax and socialize under the shade on a wide sidewalk.
When you stop in, yourself whatever coffee or tea makes you happy, buy yourself a crystal, and get a card to send to your mom. Just enjoy your day by taking 20 minutes at The Bean @226.
A suggestion: Ask for a “Fluffy." It's a cold puffed espresso drink. I like one pump of lavender and two pumps of...
Read moreMel Madigan ventured out in November, 2017 to bring to Windsor, CT the coffee culture that's a step above the crowd. With everything from traditional espresso drinks to French and Italian sodas, to awesome pastries, incuding biscotti, and breakfast All Day, and lunch salads and sandwiches, Mel has nailed the coffee shop eats and drinks we all want. I even had a choice of dairy or 3 different non-dairy creamers- soy, almond and oat milk, for my Earl Grey tea choice.
The coffee is unusually good, and the service, normally, is super fast. Except for a bit of noisy dishes clattering mid-afternoon, this is also a great little casual meeting spot.
Enjoyed the local and Cuban art displayed as well.
We enjoyed more than one meeting time here, and...
