Anna Cakes — Local services in Winter Springs

I have waited almost a year to write this review because until this point I didn’t have the words to describe how EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED AND HURT I still am with the service we received. My husband is in the Army so because of that we had to wait a little over a year after we were married originally to have our “big wedding”. I was planning it long distance so I wanted to go with somebody that seemed to be very reputable and reliable with their services. I needed to rely on them to get the best service for what we were paying for since I couldn’t be as present/hands on. Anna cakes was recommended on a list by our photographer. When I went online I noticed that she had many awards and flavors that most other companies didn’t have to offer. I was excited to reach out to her and see if she was available for our big day. When I contacted her I was very happy that she had the availability and could work with me long distance around military life to be able to set up the perfect day for me to fly in and be able to pick out all of the flavors, the icing and everything else that went along with our cupcakes/main cake for the cake cutting ceremony. Little did I know that was the least of my worries. At my appointment to pick out the flavors I specifically told her my instructions on the icing, what I liked and didn’t like; I made it very clear that I did not like butter cream whatsoever, I insisted that every cupcake had cream cheese icing. She notated that specifically and I also picked out all the flavors extensively to what I specifically wanted, then gave her a specific number for everything and she said that there would be no problem. They would make the cupcakes the night before exactly how I wanted them and that they would deliver them the day of the wedding during the ceremony so they would be able to set up with no one around.(Unfortunately that didn’t happen because it poured so people were inside the barn) Well leading up to the week before the wedding I did not hear a single thing from her regarding my order. The night before the wedding I had to message her because I still hadn’t heard anything. Then the day of the wedding she wasn’t there when expected and her response was that she was running late because of the rain; mind you at this point it was right when she was supposed to get there and there was really nothing that I could say besides “ok” so I just accepted it and went on with what I need to do at that point of the wedding. Well come to find out after she had set up, half of our cupcakes were missing, they were all made incorrectly (apart from the chocolate ones the chocolate ones were the only ones that she made correctly) the flavors that I specifically asked for were not there, she made every cupcake with buttercream icing which I specifically told her I did not want on any of them, the cupcake flavor that I had picked out for myself personally was not there. She set it up to make it seem like all of our flavors were there when they weren’t. I personally believe that she forgot about our order and when I messaged her the night before is when she remembered and she just simply threw something together. Once I realized how badly it was messed up we immediately reached out to her. Multiple people in my family reached out to her, my mother-in-law reached out to her and she simply told my mother-in-law that she couldn’t discuss our contract with her and that she’d follow up with me. I wrote out an email to her because she emailed me stating that my mother in law had contacted her. I told her everything that I was unhappy about, and stated that we should get some sort of refund because we paid almost $800! To not even receive half of the product is ridiculous. What I’m still the most upset about is the fact that she did not even reply to my concern email. She just simply ignored it. The cake is one of the most important things at a wedding. As much as I wish it would’ve worked out for us and as much as I hate leaving this one star review I hope it helps someone out in the future...

I had tasted several local bakeries for my 2017 wedding and Anna Cakes had the best flavors and tasted amazing! We were really looking forward to our cake for our wedding day. Anna assured us that the cakes were made the day before, so they were fresh (as opposed to other bakers that premake cakes and freeze them). On the morning of our wedding, I received an email from Anna informing us that our cake was cancelled due to a bakery fire. I would have appreciated a phone call and luckily I checked my email on my wedding day! In the email, she stated she was processing returns that day and to be patient. There was no suggestions for any other bakeries that may be able to help. I worked on finding a new bakery and getting ready for the wedding. Once we returned from our honeymoon, I had still not received a refund. I emailed Anna and she shared that our she was out of town for our wedding and a sister bakery was making our cake and had cancelled last minute. She said she was waiting on the check from insurance company, but would pay out of pocket if it took too long. It had already been 10 days after the wedding. She then asked for us to wait until the end of the month until after she had a black Friday sale - we agreed. On Dec 3rd, a full month after our wedding, we still had not received a refund and i started the claims process with my credit card company. I completely understand that no one can predict a bakery fire or other disaster. I'm disappointed with Anna's professionalism in handling the events afterwards and lack of transparency. My husband and I got married on December 6, 2019 and our cake was absolutely amazing! Not only was it gorgeous and what we wanted for our Harry Potter themed wedding, but it was also delicious! Anna was great from start to finish and super responsive, as well as helpful, for any questions we had. And the cake tasting session was amazing! Definitely arrive hungry and if you have a sweet tooth like I do you'll be thrilled I've never had a wedding cake like hers, and we've been to many weddings. So many wedding cakes with fondant just taste like cardboard but not Anna's. I'm not sure if it's the way she makes her fondant, or maybe it's the ratio of fondant to the frosting underneath, but it was divine. We couldn't bring ourselves to freeze our top tier like most do, so we may have eaten the entire tier over the days following our wedding We will definitely be ordering a replica of our cake flavor from Anna for our one year anniversary...
