Woodburn lanes is very old in bowling lanes terms. It is a quaint little 12 lane alley with wood lanes and a recently purchased modern scoring system. Unfortunately, the kinks haven't quite been worked out with the new system and it sometimes causes malfunctions. More amusing than anything else, really. The pin setters sometimes drop pins, but that is easily handled and quickly correctable. The only real problem with this place is the lanes. Call me old fashioned, but I love bowling on wood lanes. But the lanes here have not been cared for properly. That said, I would still encourage novice and better bowlers to use these lanes if for no other reason than to improve their skills. Because of the poor condition of the lanes, bowling is quite challenging forcing the bowler to make major adjustments frequently. I understand that replacing the wood is expensive and that the place has recently changed ownership so I will wait and see what the new management does. If the lanes improve, I will change my rating...
Read moreThis bowling lane is not properly taken care of. The lanes look like they haven’t been oiled or taken care of in years! The lane it’s self that we had would drop the pins halfway down so we had to switch. I understand that some places have mechanical problems and they fixed the issue by moving my party to the other lane. The ball kept on getting stuck trying to go in the ball return and problem took about 20-30 of our time of asking the person working to be able to fix it. The employee of that day however was very nice and cooperative which is very appreciated. This place is out of date and old. I was shocked when I found it with 4.6 stars. That’s not what it...
Read moreMy family and I tried to make a reservation here. We called in on the morning of the day we planned to go and got a reservation at 5:30. We live about 30 minutes away so we left at 4:50. About 15 minutes into the drive there, we got a call from the alley telling us they have canceled our reservation due to leauge. Somebody at the place was clearly confused and put us down anyways even though there was leauge. Thank goodness they called us before we got any further. It's hard to bowl at these places anymore because they have leauge basically EVERY NIGHT. So, unless you join a...
