Wonderdog Merrimon — Attraction in Woodfin

These folks didn't let me board my dog here, and that made me like them MORE. Let me explain- I was in a bind where my pet-sitter cancelled on me last minute. I have a geriatric shepard and a very nervous young pittie. They were willing to work with my schedule to get the dogs in for a playdate test on short notice. From the very beginning, I was totally impressed with how the staff handled my nervous dog. They were incredibly kind, patient, and unassuming, and obviously have training and dog-handling experience. After I left they called me quickly to let me know my guy was still really stressed, and that he probably wouldn't be happy here.

Basically, they were more concerned about my dog's well-being than making a buck, and that speaks volumes!

Their customer service is impeccable- honest, professional, and timely. I hope eventually to work my nervous dog up to being able to stay here. They obviously care...

Did not honor our reservation over the busy holiday season and left us scrambling - also said they were “horribly understaffed” by own admission. Not trustworthy at all! We were told when we made the reservation that we could “come in any time” for a temperament test as our dogs were new to boarding here. I made the rez, paid the deposit, and when I called three weeks in advance to drop the dogs off for the test was informed that tests were by appointment only and that none were avail thru year end…therefore our reservation would be cancelled. ?!?! No advance notice, no communication, no apologies for leaving us stressed finding a place at the last minute. Abysmal customer service, not to mention their excuse was that they were “horribly short staffed” and therefore could not accommodate a simple vetting appointment. This is obviously concerning…think twice before boarding your furry...

Wow! It is a wonder that anyone would think about taking their dogs anywhere else. The Owners of Wonderdog have been taking care my dogs since we rescued them and can't imagine anyone else caring for them. They treat my dogs more like family than my own family. They can be very strict about their temperament tests, but it is for the benefit of the dog and owner. Knowing how thorough they are and how they are about the dogs they are willing to board, I have absolute faith that my dogs will be around other well balanced and well behaved dogs. I was always well informed about exact expectations at every step. I have rarely found a groomer/boarder with such organization, poise, and genuine dedication to the proper care...
