New England Falconry — Attraction in Woodstock

My girlfriend and I did a private extended session for our anniversary this year. It was without a doubt one of the most awesome things I've ever done. Gregory was very friendly and professional, and did a fantastic job teaching us more about the birds and the art of falconry in general. We flew a Harris' Hawk and a Barn Owl, and spent some time with a Lanner Falcon in the barn. The birds were beautiful and well behaved, and it was clear Gregory had a close relationship with them and had their safety and happiness in mind. What a great time this was. It's hard not to be biased when this experience gave me the opportunity to handle a hawk and owl without any sort of training, but wow. If you're into birds at all and can afford the few extra bucks to look a Harris hawk (or Barn Owl) in the eyes less than a foot from your face, you should. Anastasia was a fantastic instructor with a lot of great information about not only the birds but the practice of falconry in general. I celebrated a birthday at this facility, and it was one of the greatest experiences. Highly recommend for anyone, especially those interested in raptors and/or falconry. Anastasia has a natural gift with these birds. She truly connects with these raptors, and did an incredible job with the class. I did the owl session, and was a participant and it was great.
