Lived in Woodstock for 12 years. The owners have made zero investments in the store. It shows. The crumbling entry way, the broken shopping carts. The faded linoleum and bad lighting. The one visable investment has been the low end scanners that work sporadically. That investment has actually worsened the customer experience dramatically. Folks with skin in the game should ask. Why can't we hire workers? What type of opportunity do we offer? Candidly, in the 12 years I've had to use Mac's i've never met or seen the owners. But I mean, by God.....please hire some folks who actually act like they enjoy their job! They have decent sales weekly, kinda outrageous prices on regular items, I will say that they have a decent assortment of specialty and local products. But the lackluster customer service just kills it for me, and my girlfriend who agrees that after countless times of being disappointed, we will now be taking our business elsewhere. Read moreOne of the few grocery stores in town, had some really good deli selections, in-house made salads (potato, chicken, macaroni). Had a bit of everything and everything we needed almost every time. (And it's NOT cash only and has more general selection than the market up the road. We enjoyed them, too, just not quite the selection)
Like most smart places, bring your own bags. (If not, they do offer them at .10 for paper, or a cute selection of reusable bags for around $2.)
Really nice staff - we appreciated that the most. Will be back while we are in town long term....
