Beautiful park and memorial! The monument is located on one side with a list of those who died serving our country etched into four different pillars. There is a nice lake to walk around with pillars on the opposite side displaying letters written by soldiers in the war to their families back home. They also have a memorial dedicated to the service dogs and their handlers. The landscape is beautiful and there are walking trails surround the park. It is a gorgeous place to just sit and enjoy nature or to walk around and take pictures. It is very peaceful. My children like going to enjoy the wildlife roaming freely through the park. NOW MY SON IS STILL PLAYING THERE ,BUT THEY CHANGED THE COURT TO THE BELMONT SIDE . BUT ACROSS FROM HANDBALL COURT. MY CHILDREN AND I WOULD GO SLEDDING DOWN THE HIGHEST POINT AND IT NEVER FAILED , WE COULD ONLY STOP ✋. BECAUSE OFF THE FENCE SURROUNDING THE OLD BASKETBALL COURT . WE ALSO ROLLED DOWN IN THE SUMMER'S. , WITH OUR HANDS CROSSED ON OUR CHEST AND WE ENJOYED WALKING OUR DOG'S " OUR BABIES HAD TO ENJOY THE PARK . I MUST SAY . IT WAS A BETTER PARK BEFORE .. Read moreIt's a great place to walk, the trails go for miles.... My dog loves it...It's a great place to bring your family and have a cookout hang out and relax.. The park rangers keep up the grounds very well although they could empty all the fireplaces throughout the park... overall they do a great job ... And please take the time to read the memorials those children died for our freedom... And if you see a veteran there thank him or her...
