Never shopping here again. (Rolls eyes.) While waiting for the cashier to wrap my glassware and hand me my receipt, I discretely texted my 10-year-old son, who was waiting in the car, and told him I'd be right out. The cashier told me, "The store has a policy of no cellphone use inside the store." At first I thought he was kidding, so I laughed. He said, "There really is a policy against using cellphones in the store." I said, "Really? In a thrift store? What would the reasoning be for that?" Anyway, I suppose the store is allowed to make up whatever petty, ridiculous rules it likes, but I am also free to buy my second-hand tchotchkes from a thrift shop that doesn't restrict my personal freedom. I will. And I hope...
