So I was just at the Yelm Washington goodwill that my husband and I visit quite frequently but today was the last time!! We had not been in the store more than 5 minutes and they came up to my husband and told him he needed to leave and was not allowed back. All he was doing was walking the aisles looking for treasures as we do EVERY WEEKEND. For me it was actually a couple times a week. Always looking for a good deal. HE HAD DONE NOTHING WRONG! When I confronted them about it they said they had a complaint about him. For what?!? They told me they were not allowed to disclose that. That’s my husband and you can’t tell me what someone was complaining about!!!! Again he was literally just walking the aisles. So I decided I was not going to shop at goodwill anymore and yes I did give them a reason to kick me out for it and I don’t care! That is NOTthe kind of store I want to shop at if you’re going to kick someone out for life for doing nothing wrong because supposedly someone complained about them. We have been true loyal customers and always brought our donations to the goodwill over any other. But that was the first and only line they needed to cross for me to say no more!!! NEVER shopping or donating to any...
Read moreWe have been in Yelm WA for several years now. I CANT begin to count the amount of STUFF we have taken and GIVEN to this goodwill drop off. The employees are USUALLY good About promptly coming out with a roll cart and retrieving items you're donating. But NEARLT EVERY SINGLE TIME we do there is SOMETHING that they will be picky about and reject. Either its a considered "furnature" item OR containers that maybe had once held "food" or SOME OTHER problem with items or an item we DONATING. It's all subject to the interpretation of that employee who walks out to retrieve the stuff you're giving away. Thus last tine we went, we dropped off several bags of clothing and misc items we've had sitting around for a while; we also took in a big wood framed raggedy Ann painting that is probably about 3' x4' _so a good sized piece of wall art still in great condition, and the guy tells me "oh we can't take THAT.. we don't have any room for THAT.." oookkk... After our drop-off we decided to go around to the actual goodwill and browse around inside. INTERESTING. That along the back wall I found all THIS as pictured... and you say you "DONT HAVE ROOM "..wow!!! Annoying...
Read moreI've been a thrifter for many years... and I've seen some terrible stores over the years. But, this goodwill location is absolutely the worst I've ever seen or experienced. The staff who treat you like a criminal the minute you walk in the door are not only extremely rude... but are also redneck hillbillies who discriminated against me for shopping in the womans section. They said things like your in the wrong section - and pointed me to the menswear. Then they falsely accused me of shoplifting while I was in the store... and lost about $200 worth of sales - when walked out and told the manager that I wouldn't be purchasing or spending another red cent at this store. I also told her I'd encourage everyone I know to do the same. I run an online clothing business and have already spent about 10k at goodwill this year. The yelm store is going to miss me... way more than I will ever...
