I was here with my grandma visiting family last month and we stopped at this Jack in the Box for a quick dinner. We don’t have this restaurant in Utah so we really didn’t know what to order. I got some grilled chicken club that had mold on the bread and the chicken was like rubber, my grandma ordered the 4 piece spicy chicken strips but got 3 regular and we were charged $7 for them, the salad I initially got was literally nothing but shredded taco lettuce so I took it back in and got fries instead. It was just a mess so I called the restaurant and spoke to a young girl who claimed to be the manager on duty.
She said we could bring the receipt in the next day for a cash refund, and I said well maybe I’ll just forget it since it’s so far out of the way, but she said no it’ll be fine just bring the receipt in, that’s all you need, and we’ll refund you. She was so nice. We were at a hotel that didn’t have a fridge so we ended up throwing away a majority of the food because she said we wouldn’t need to bring it back.
The next day, we drive 30 minutes out of our way and I go in with my receipt and I speak to the “manager”. He was a young man with long hair and piercings and tattoos. I said I spoke to a girl last night who said I could come in today and get this refunded. This kid says to me “if you don’t have the food there’s no way I’m going to refund you”. I was a little shocked because I had been nice so I said well the manager I spoke to last night said that wasn’t necessary. We’re in a hotel, are we just supposed to keep a bag of rotting food on the counter for 16 hours? Not to mention she said we didn’t need to bring it in.
The “manager” says “I don’t care what she said, I’m the manager and I’m not going to give you any money back”. So I asked for his name and left.
When I’m exiting the door my key lanyard got stuck on the edge and essentially pulled it outward as I was leaving. I say “oops sorry” and the manager chases me out of the store and tells me “never come back to my store again. How dare you slam my door”. Why would I slam the door like a child while my grandma sits and watches me from the car?
Literally no one has EVER talked to me like this so I just got in the truck and left. My grandma saw it all and she’s 80 and said “I don’t think that young man should be working around the public”. If only she knew. It really upset me and I ended up crying because of the whole ordeal. He made it seem like I was lying just to get $20 refunded. Or he just has a huge ego and shouldn’t be around the public.
I’m a manager at Starbucks and I would NEVER in a million years speak to anyone the way I was spoken to. But what else could I do?
I emailed jack in the box and I’ve received no response so I guess they don’t care. It was really a mentally traumatizing experience and I won’t ever go back to another jack in the box again. And if that little pierced tattoo manager is there and you see him maybe you should just turn around and leave. Be gentle with the door though, you might get berated...
Read moreThis is a likely one of the most odd reviews I've left, but this situation definitely warrants such a review. It's rare for me to see someone show pride in their work anymore. Often what I see in any industry is corner cutting, lack of craftsmanship and/or lack of mindfulness of what others think of the outcome of the product or labor, food included.
Was there on 12/16 @ 7:30 am. I ordered the ultimate sausage sandwich, and I hope that whoever was the cook working this day and time is highly appreciated by their employer and gets commended for a job well done. We all know that the eloquent menu meals never match the appearance of ours when we remove it from the bag. Well, not at all the case here.
Fast food is known to be a quick fill and nothing more. We always open the wrapper and let our taste buds do the talking. Well this time, I had to stop for a moment and appreciate all the attention to detail on how the sandwich was actually made. IT LOOKED LIKE IT WAS PULLED DIRECTLY FROM THE MENU SCREEN!!! I have never seen a fast food cook put this much pride and effort in making sandwich. I wish I had taken a picture because you all likely think I am crazy.... It's things like this that should progress people, and this person, to greater opportunities in this industry. Add enough seasoning, anything can taste good, but it takes effort to make it LOOK good too. I was beyond impressed that this cook did not cut corners, and I hope that this extra effort the cook made to not only have the sandwich taste good, but to also have it look good and clean does not go un-noticed. Well it didn't go un-noticed with me. GREAT JOB MYSTERY CHEF!! Keep up...
Read moreLemme tell you about this jack n the box! They are NEVER open! There was a sign in the window that stated their hours changed (I'm assuming to accommodate staff that can't wake up early enough to open) and they STILL failed to open on time for a whole WEEK AND A HALF! I stopped by around 8:45...closed. Came back at 1:15...still closed.
When they are open, their soda machine for dine in is ALWAYS out of order (I know it's not broken because I've checked it myself). I think they do that so they don't have to clean it, but that's an accusation, not a truth.
The reason for the 3 stars for food was that the lady who took my order made me curly fries at the last minute for breakfast time. I thought that was amazing and made me want to come back, but how can I come back if yall are never open???
Bottom line, whoever is running this establishment needs to hire new staff IMMEDIATELY or at least give a raise to the staff that actually gives a damn about customer service and showing up to...
