DON'T WAIST YOUR TIME GOING ANYWHERE ELSE!!!
Reptile Island is a hidden jewel in our community. Completely stoked to have found this place. I was headed out to pick up just a few things for our bearded dragon at Pet Smart. Was completely disappointed in the very small selection of what they had. Not to mention they where out of half of what that was. What I needed I didn't have the time to wait to get online. That's when I did a search on line and found Reptile Island. This place has everything you need. Massive selection of tanks of all shapes and sizes (not just the cookie cutter sizes). Was blown away by the extensive selection of reptiles available to purchase here. It's almost like being at a mini reptile convention theres that much variety to choose from. Oh and they have just as much to choose from for when it comes to feeding your reptiles. They also have all your needs covered for all your reptile accessory ( heating matts, lamps, rocks.... ECT).
Let's be honest no one is gonna beat Amazon's prices. So considering that this was a local business and not a chain I was prepared to see the higher prices. I was delighted to see that they weren't there. Everything was super reasonable like a chain store would be. In some cases even cheaper.
Needles to say my family has found or new reptile store. It's close to home. It's the selection your looking for at the prices you want to see. Best of all there's no waiting for it in the mail. Last but not least the people there are knowledgeable and friendly. So don't waist your time going somewhere else. Head straight to...
Read moreThey had everything that has to do with Reptiles(hence, the name of the business)even have Reptiles on deck if you so choose to bring home a new member for your family. All the employees extremely knowledgeable and will point you in the right direction in regards to your reptile. Only issues was that 1 particular employee wasn't so friendly, a little rude and came off as impatient as I was going to pay using my debit card, I ACCIDENTALLY hit cancel, then had to redo the whole purchase again, which only took about 1 minute, maybe 1 minute and 2 seconds but apparently he didn't have time for those 2 seconds. Anyway, he went on to make it a point to te me how to use the debit machine as if I was a Neanderthal and just stepped out of my flinstone vehicle parked out front (I know how to use a debit machine 🙄) I personally didn't like to feel as though I was being taught my ABC's and was scolded by him (awkward and uncomfortable). Other then that little experience, I would highly recommend this reptile store because they have absolutely everything and all the other employees were super friendly, also inexpensive as well, they definitely got your reptile covered. Just don't forget to press the GREEN button if paying with your debit card or you'll have to take this businesses free 101 class on "how to use your debit card in our debit machine"....
Read moreIve been going to Reptile Island for years. I go to another location though. Both locations are bad but the Yorba Linda store is by far the worst. I don't know how customers are saying this store and the reptiles are kept clean because they are not. I was just in there the other day and they have male and female snakes of all sizes housed together in small cages. They also have males housed together which can lead to death of one or the other due to dominace. The cages we're full of feces and urine. One cage even had 2 sets of feces and I know this species to know it didn't poop twice recently. It had not been cleaned in weeks, thru 2 cycles of feeding at least, if not more. The reptiles, most of them, are in horrible shape. The only ones that were decent but still underweight, were babies and that's because they were just hatched a few weeks/month ago. I've seen posts where people have bought sick and dying reptiles fron this place. Something needs to change. I will be looking into calling ASPCA or local Humane Society today to see if they can step in and get this place to change because over the years I have been going, I have myself tried to do something and it's fallen...
