Large, well stocked, decent amount of live seafood and fresh meat, good fresh green vegetable section and lots of dry goods including shoes, kitchen supplies (restaurant oriented) and packaged shelf-stable foods. Clean, spacious and well organized. Prices are average which is to say that they range from very cheap to a little in the high side, mostly depending on the country of origin. American and Canadian made items are about the same as anywhere else. Things made overseas tend to be inexpensive. They have a nice selection of sweet and salty snacks. Their sauce aisle is well stocked. They have limited Japanese and Korean goods, but they do carry some things.
In 2022 it was clear that prices had gone up. I don't think this market is any more expensive than anywhere else, but inflation has reached their shelves just as much as everywhere else.
While most of the goods they sell are ingredients that need to be cooked, it seems as though they add a few more convenience foods, snacks, sweets, frozen prepared items, etc. each year. They're a great place to shop for instant ramen and prepared sauces. They also have an extensive selection of dry and frozen Chinese style noodles, plus refrigerated udon and knife cut noodles.
A corner of the store is dedicated to restaurant supplies, particularly for Chinese restaurants. While shopping for rice, tofu, and pickled cabbage, you can easily buy an enormous wok, polyester kitchen pants, a ½ gallon ladle, cast iron gas burner element, or jumbo whisk. They have an extensive selection of inexpensive knives and Chinese cleavers. Kitchen wares are no longer super inexpensive in the summer of 2023 but they're still a fraction of the cost of kitchen wares in a gourmet shop. Products like colanders, flatware, dishes, and pans made in China are no longer significantly less expensive in this store than they would be from a discount store or big box store.
There are items for Japanese, Korean, Thai, Vietnamese, and Filipino cooking, but the store is mainly focused on Chinese goods.
The packaged sweets seems to have been expanded to two aisles in the summer of 2022.
The large packed dry noodle selection is different every time I go in. They had a very good selection of thin wiggly ramen type noodles the last time I was there, but sometimes they have just a couple in that style. The dry noodle selection...

They do have a lot of typical Asian products, such as canned food, noodles, drinks, spring roll wrappers, live fish, and fresh produce etc. The price of most of their products are about the going but cheaper then Meijers, Kroger, or your regular store. I have been coming here for the past few years every 4 months and this is my biggest complaint. I would say customer service 90% of the time is HORRIBLE. The owners/employees barely smile, they don't really say hello or goodbye, and "thanks for coming" wishes. (FYI : I'm Asian) One time I was there at the same time they opened and said HELLO, no one Greeted me, they looked at me as if I were Satan. My husband who is not Asian gets treated the same. I only go there because they have what I need when I can't get to my favorite Asian store on Dequindre & 11 mile Kim Nhung Super foods.(Yes, I drive that far) I try not to give them any business because of how rude they are. P.S. GOOD LUCK if your trying to return something.
4 Stars for what I need and a BIG fat ZERO for...
Read moreA lot of things aren’t in English and it can be overwhelming If it’s your first time there or you don’t know what things are. But they have the best selection and pricing for Asian food in the area.
I love this place.
My advice is to really make a day of going the first time so you can spend your time really checking out what’s there.
I will admit that people are right about it having some overpowering smells that kind of very throughout the store. But a lot of that is just the smell of the food, so it’s really what should be expected. That said it’s not what a lot of us are used to so it’s good to have that in mind going into things.
I also noticed that people have mentioned the staff not being super helpful when you have questions. I figured this was just a language barrier, but I think I might not entirely be the case. I honestly think all the reviews here are accurate, more than one thing can be true. But that doesn’t actually take away from my...
