This is the first and the most absurb asian restaurant I tried in this city! I must describe my whole story here. We went to Ypbor Yan for lunch this Saturday. After we sat down, we waited for around 15 minutes until someone came to make an order. Then another half an hour before the first dish came. Those are small problems, because I admit that the food is good, but the service is really questioned. Don't know if they are too busy. Because it is at noon, so finally a few of my friends gave only 15% tips, which is very normal in other restaurant. Some of others gave 18% tips. They didn't give us customer copies. However, what made us super angry was the following ridiculous thing! When we were about to leave the restaurant -- we were at the door... a mid-age waitress stopped us and said, "We have a minimum value of the tips. You need to give 18% tips. " What? Nobody told us before the meal and it is definitely not reasonable for a waitress to request the customer like this! No matter 15% is lower or not, there's no rule on the menu saying it is low, and it is not a waitress' duty to ask a customer to give her more tips! They have no right to block the customers' way and force them to pay more tips! I was really shocked, and trying to say this is a normal amount of tips. Finally, the woman said, "Okay, I will add $2 on that. Is it ok?" -- Why don't you just hold a knife and stand on the street to threat the pedestrian to give you money!!! I have to uncover this issue, because it ruined our good mood after the...
Read more🚨THIS RESTAURANT ALLEGEDLY PARTICIPATES IN CREDIT CARD FRAUD, WHICH IS ILLEGAL! 🚨 As other people have said, while the service at Ypbor FM is abysmal, this restaurant enforces a mandatory 18% tip. This isn't stated anywhere in the restaurant or on their menus, by the way, and a service/gratuity charge does not appear on any of their receipts. Like all restaurants, Ypbor gives the option to tip however much you like - but that seemingly only exists to provide the illlusion of choice. Because the service was poor, we only decided to tip 15%. Unlike other reviewers, we weren't chased down by someone afterwards: the restaurant staff simply decided to increase our tip amount without saying anything. We only figured this out after checking our bank statement. This goes way deeper than just one waiter or two changing the tip amount for their own gain: the entire restaurant is in on it, meaning that if you try to dispute any falsified charges, they will NOT help you. Just call your credit card company and report them. It's a shame, because the food here is very good. But Ypbor FM doesn't care about their customers, or even about being a decent establishment. I hope for the sake of everyone who's been deceived by Ypbor FM that this restaurant is forced to shut down...

We never order so called "Americanized Chinese menu items"
So we can't comment on that.
The dishes we had last night was Spicy Garlic Pork Belly appetizer, Dinner Special Ribs, Salt & Pepper Shrimp, and Yangzhou Fried Rice.
Everything was cooked to perfection, fresh, hot and tasty.
It was wonderful to see our favorite waitress from their old(original)location. We haven't seen her for few years but she remembered us real well and asked us right away that if we want the dishes spicy😊
We always ask em to make the dishes super extra spicy and they'll always add extra hot chilis to our dishes.
She even got us freshly made sweets as a surprise. That was very sweet of her😘
I myself love to cook Chinese food but I live in an apartment, there's limitation on cooking with high heat. I'd just come here to enjoy authentic Chinese food instead of me trying to cook.
I can't wait to go...
